Hmmmm, wonder who's in the City of Pasadenas ear asking for a favor. This suggests one of the LA stadium deals is looking to time a move for a specific team to move here before a new stadium can be built, meaning the timing of an early move to Pasadena would most likely mean it would be a team who's stadium contract is up at a time that would coincide with the time period stated for playing in Pasadena.
The Chargers can get out of their lease at Qualcomm stadium every year between Feb. 21 and April 29 until 2020, due to a clause in their contract, that allows them to leave if the franchise paid off what was owed for previous upgrades by 2007, and they paid it off by 2007 .
Raiders contract is up at OcO stadium after 2013 season.
The Rams situation is this, Their lease requires that the stadium be among the top quarter of NFL stadiums in 15 separate categories. If it isn’t, the team can break the lease after the 2014 season. The stadium at this time is not among the top quarter in the NFL. Last February The CVC proposed a $127 million upgrade and the Rams countered with a $700 million upgrade to settle their issues.
So it looks like it could be either the Raiders or Chargers moving first and being the AFC team in Los Angeles.
And most likely the Rams being the second team to move to LA.
A team has to request NFL permission by March 2013 for a move to LA to be considered. so thats a date to keep an eye on to see if either the Chargers or Raiders make that request for this year. If not then it would be the following March deadline to keep an eye on. It will most likely be the Rams and either Chargers or Raiders sharing a 2018 or 2019 LA stadium completion, and teams could move to Pasadena or LA Coliseum for the interim.
Just no.
It's happening!!! So long cholos!
Blah who cares. So long Raiders.
Blech. Oakland Raiders always.
As a Pasadena resident...I'd love this. DO THIS NOW!

Just another one of those lame "Raiders moving to L.A." threads. The Raiders just started offering their current season ticket holders (like myself) an early renewal incentive program for the 2013 season, so good luck for the Raiders leaving Oakland before next season. And not to mention that the JPA (Joint Powers Authority) and the Raiders just began negotiating a 5 year lease extension to remain in Oakland until a new stadium solution has been agreed upon. This article is completely useless, and contains no news at all. Next........
I'm from Italy, so I have no interest in supporting one city or another with the goal to watch the team playing looking out the window, but I'd prefer the Raiders remained to Oakland for 2 reasons: I don't love franchises moving nonstop and not creating a bond with community and most of all I love little markets, probably because I'm intrigued by the David vs Goliath logic.
