To make room for former #Eagles CB Joselio Hanson the #Raiders are waiving 2011 3rd round pick CB DeMarcus Van Dyke.
Raiders pulling plug on 2011 third-round pick | ProFootballTalk
As Raiders G.M. Reggie McKenzie continues to settle in as the new captain of the team’s front office, he’s not afraid to overturn the decisions of his predecessor, the late Al Davis.
Per a league source, McKenzie and company will be waiving today cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke.
Van Dyke, a third-round pick in 2011 who appeared in 14 games with four starts last year, fit the former vision for the franchise. He was fast. The fastest man at last year’s Scouting Combine, running the 40-yard dash in 4.28 seconds.
The move comes two days after the Raiders and McKenzie parted ways with cornerback Chimdi Chekwa, a fourth-round pick in 2011 who ran the 40 in 4.33 seconds at the Combine. Both Chekwa and Van Dyke are listed as second-team corners in the Raiders’ most recent depth chart, with Shawntae Spencer and Ron Bartell the starters.
The broader message is that McKenzie must see something in the player the team took in the third round of the 2011 supplemental draft, quarterback Terrelle Pryor. Otherwise, he’d be gone, too.
Then again, who knows what the next move from McKenzie will be?

So we'll have Phillip Adams, Coye Francies, and Joselio Hanson. I think Huff will be in there some with Giordano on the field a lot again.
Can't play, can't stay.
I think this will have positive long term results. This year, I think our defense is in a lot of trouble.
Whats crazy is...
According to Levi Damien and Steve Corkran (guys I followed on twitter for Training Camp updates)
DVD was the best corner in camp....shutting down DHB a lot of times..
If he's on waivers...I wonder if anybody else will pick him up. There was talk that the Eagles wanted to draft him, maybe they bring him into Philly now. Who knows...if he doesn't get picked up he'll be a good practice squad, ready to roll backup, kind of guy. He does have a lot of experience for us, just isn't getting it quite yet, maybe he never will, but obviously Reggie doesn't want him starting for Oakland at the moment.
Sounds like a good move to me, DVD has looked terrible in pre season, and is too skinny to hit anybody.
Hanson is at least a legitimate NFL player and has experience in this league.

ya i was seeing that too..even dee and sb were saying how well dvd was playing in TC..he didnt show it though when going against other teams which is what matters the most..its too bad because i was starting to think he might catch on when i was hearing all those good things about him..
Another example how the old way of doing things has changed......
Not a surprise the new regime thought he couldn't play football.....

i dont care if he was the so called best player in camp he still stunk during the real games could not make play on balls.
We have little to no depth at CB , but what the hell allens system we are going to play a lot of zone so CB will not be as important as years past.
