I think the teams make their own pre season schedule. I don't think Goodell has anything to do with it. I'm not a fan of Goodell at all but no use throwing blame at him for mondane things.

Completely disagree. What a great opportunity for the players trying to prove themselves and earn a spot on the team to open on Monday night in front of their home crowd. The first preseason game is usually the time when the guys at the bottom of the depth chart get more playing time. Would you rather they opened in Cleveland in a game that is only televised locally?

Then how do you explain the cowboys? Whom also have to wait till Monday for their first preseason game? And their supposed to be America's team. I hate Goodell just as much as everyone else in the NFL but in this case I think it's pretty insignificant. I think it gives us an opportunity to see what mistakes other teams are making early and try to avoid them.

I love playing monday night with the monday night exposure and the city of oakland getting shown in a positive light on the national stage...it's a win win!

You know we schedule and pick our preseason opponents right???? The team picked the MNF for some national exposure by having a nationally televised game not to mention extra money for the team. Roger Goodell had nothing to do with this.

i like goodell better than rozelle. At least goodell is picking on the saints instead of the raiders. yeah let the saints carry the load for awhile we have done it long enough.

Maybe we will just slip under the radar this decade emerging as a classy well run franchise the the NFL boasts about again. I hope we dont lose our outlaw image completely but it costing us bad calls on the field got old a long time ago.
