What a dumb ass....

A first-year Cal Poly football assistant coach best known for an alleged altercation with former Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable was arrested for his alleged role in a fight at a Pismo Beach bar early Saturday.

Randy Hanson, 44, was arrested at 1:23 a.m. on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into County Jail after allegedly attacking a man with a beer bottle at Harry’s Nightclub & Beach Bar, according to Pismo Beach police Sgt. Tom Portz.

For all the things that Raider Randy might be, he for sure is a diehard hardcore Raiders fan ... well ... at least he was.

A member posted a nice detailed exposé of a night he spent with Hanson in a bar. Explaining that the dude was extrememly passionate about football, more so about Raiders football.

Apparently he's missing a gene, however.

I have met Randy Hanson many times and have never seem him out of line at all. He has always been a real down to earth guy with a extensive knowledge of the game. As for this incident, Sh1t happens. I am sure most of us have been there.

I can honestly say when it comes to assault with a deadly weapon I have never been there nor do I believe that 'most of us have been there'. I don't care about Randy Hanson one way or another but this is a pretty serious accusation.

You obviously didn't see Emilio Estevez in "The Outsiders," when he was going to take on all the Soshes with a busted beer bottle he raked against a chain link fence. Thank God that Cherry talked him out of it. He was going to get all those Soshes with that beer bottle. Don't underestimate.

I am not trying to defend him using a beer bottle but sometime you need a equalizer. Who knows the guy may have been 6'4" 250. Hanson is not a big guy and a bit nerdy looking so I could see someone picking on him.

Seen him at Ricky's Last year. He was drinking wine !! Phil Villapiano was there signing Auto's and John Villa says to Villapiano This is the coach that Tom Cable Knocked out ! Villapiano was laughing and trying to get him to tell the whole story in front of everyone !! Phil said you must have done something for him to break your jaw !! It was a classic.. Never had a better time going up to Oakland !!

You guys have to realize I'm Canadian. That **** simply doesn't happen that much up here. In a city of 1.2 million like Calgary we may have 10-15 homicides in a year. If we get into a scrap its usually sans weapons.

Yea I live in East Oakland. Our murder rate is usually in the top 2% in California and most years over 100 homicides. This year the projection is over 4,000 Aggravated Assaults.

Besides, the forearm/elbow hurts a whole lot more and will put a mother****er out for a minute.
