I like Kelly he is a funny guy. I love his interviews. Hiss video interviews are hard to understand sometimes but you can tell he is a no BS kind of guy. I like that and like what he said about how the team is coming along too.

3rd quote I've read today about things being more physically demanding this year. Players will say they love that until it really starts to hurt. Some will still love it then, some won't. Lets keep the ones who still love it at the end of the year.
Teams that cave in the 4th and give up 5 ypc are usually lacking conditioning. This team has been physically soft for far too long.
It will be really interesting to see how many practices Seymour is excused from this year.
I don't think Seymour is soft. Dude played injured at the end of the season when it seemed like he should have been rested.
The players understand that Seymour shouldn't take 100% of snaps during every practice or preseason game. It's some of the fans who don't get it. I don't think the new HC is stupid enough to sacrifice Seymour's season to prove a point to a handfull of fans.
It's not 1962 anymore. Forcing a veteran like Seymour to over work in meaningless situations just to run a military style system and sacrificing him for a good portion of the season has been shown to be sports folly. The military can replace a guy like Seymour, the Raiders can not.
lmao he gives the best interviews
He's quite the character. Rick Ross' brother.
"He brings his lunch pail.". I'm going to use that one.
R.I.P. Stacey Toran, Marquise Cooper

Not interested in seeing Seymour in every drill. But older guys need more training than younger ones to keep a high level of fitness. It has to be done in a very smart way or you will get injuries, and older guys need more recovery time. But a really good trainer can alter things up and get great results.
Its pretty hard to tell what was injury, what was conditioning, and which order they came. But Seymour will last longer (in games and in years) if he is in great shape. I've got no problem if he is held out of contract drills to run the stairs breathing through a snorkel.
Unless he and Kelly take a massive pay cut next year they won't be here.
Both Seymour and Kelly will be playing for their Raiders career this year as tying $15M+ on your starting two DT whilst giving up over 5 yards a carry is not going to happen going forward. We have Bryant who can step in & Houston used to be a DT in college so we have immediate starter cover and then possibly look to add a DT in the draft next year. If we switch to a 3 4 defense it will speed up the above.
I know the whole 5 yards a carry is always on these two but a large part of it is.
I absolutely agree with this. If you wanna be paid like an all pro DT in the league and top 5 in the position you better play like it. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I bet they ate probably paid in the top 5-10 in their position but in my opinion they don't play like it on a consistent basis. Showing up some games and no where to be seen in others can't be tolerated. Sounds harsh but it's the truth.
Very very cool, and thanks for the lesson! I love your unique ink!

Practice?
You know, our D, and its true, has been soft against the run, but whenever I see TK play, I'm always seeing him hustlin' against the pass, chasing QBs out of bounds, being double teamed at the line of scrimmage. TK has been stout against the pass. I can't hate on the guy. He's been here a long ,long time and I hope, hope, we can get him a ring before he retires.
