    Thumbs up Wednesday Practice Notes

Bartell running on side and Ivey still watching as Day 3 begins. Not practicing
No pads for Denarius Moore After having some issues with his hammy in min camp, Denarius Moore appeared to have tweaked it yesterday and it not in helmet and pads
Aaron Curry and Shane Lechler also not practicing

Goodson is practicing after his hamstring tweak yesterday.
Former Raiders center Jeremy Newberry taking in practice from the sideline.
Richard Gordon on the field sans helmet. Hurt his hip Tuesday
Dennis Allen definitely louder than first two days, critiquing tackle simulation drill

Very fast pace out here. No messing around
Goodson breaks one through the line untouched on one cut. Hammy fine
Wheeler jumped offsides on first hit

Sticking with same five guys on first-team offensive line.
Bryant with stop on Dmac at the line.
    Fumbled snap by Pryor.
Humphrey with nice seal block to spring Dmac.

TE Humphrey off to good start — Saunders praises blocking then a 25-yard catch
Goethel with nice run stop for second-teamers … Kelly devours Wisniewski … Reece clears our Underwood on big run outside by McFadden
Shaughnessy, Seymour, Kelly and Houston anchoring defensive line.

Wheelers has Palmer dead to rights for "sack" on roll out right.
    Shaughnessy stuffs Taiwan in backfield.
Wheeler with good coverage on Dmac for stop on short catch
Shawntae tight cover on Streater for incompletion from Palmer

Van Dyke lays the wood on Mike Goodson
McClain in position and Goodson makes him miss.
Burris feeling his way out there, a little tentative
Barnes taking care of business against Houston

Bergstrom working at right guard with second-team offense.
Joseph Barksdale working at left and right offensive tackle with second-team
Crawford breaks up middle for sack of Matt Leinart Crawford has broken through a couple of times. At this point, it doesn't matter who he goes up against. Beating everyone.

Goodson has looked great today. Finds his block quickly, one cut and go.
DHB with nice catch reaching back to get one between Tyvon Branch and Shawntae Spencer. Palmer on the money.
Palmer connects with Rod Streater. Spencer late again.

Carlisle and Barnes open a hole and Dmac flies through it.
Marcel Reece continues to show that he is a match-up nightmare. Reece with a signature pluck of high pass in stride for long gain on short pass
Terrelle Pryor with nice mid-range pass to Juron Criner.

Carson Palmer coaching up Pryor. Happens all the time
Pryor shows mobility, eludes pressure, threads pass to Duke Calhoun. Pass dropped. He can't afford those with the stiff competition at receiver
    Burnett gets blocked into Thursday

Ford and Heyward-Bey were starting WRs with Moore out, lined up with Myers at TE
McClain with nice pass defended on Humphrey from Palmer
Palmer having rough day. Throws short of Jacoby on long ball and Huff nearly picks it off. Huff drops pick in pass drill

Kelly jumps offsides on one-on-one pass-protection drill ... twice in a row.
Leinart with nice hookup with Ausberry on post route ...shows good hands
Desmond Bryant drives Mike Brisiel into the backfield.
Houston jumps offsides on hard count.

Players jumping offsides every other snap, it seems
Grunts on other side of field & Kelly, Wiz getting chippy. Wiz not appreciating how Kelly jumping offsides and getting first shot in.
Darren McFadden bounces off Miles Burris. Welcome to the NFL, rookie.

    Nice sideline pass by Pryor
Al Saunders loves the catch by Ausberry
DHB drops one right in his hands.
Myers can catch up with long Palmer pass. He gets laid OUT though

Burris gets one back from Dmac, stuffing him at the line.
Calhoun with another drop. Continues rough day as coaches have been on him a lot
Thomas Mayo taking all kinds of smack to defense after catch all day * Causes first camp fight later..
Reece with rare drop of perfectly placed Palmer pass.

RoMac with nice coverage on Dmac on long ball for incompletion.
Pryor misses McGee, he’s done better in the pocket than on the move
Looks like Allen's D is having some affect. The defense has had its way so far for most of the first padded practice. Lots of pressure on QBs.

Two players jump offsides on punt. Going to be a work in progress
Jitters over. Marquette King launching punts on a consistent basis after early shank
McFadden thumped twice on run up the middle. Seemed untaxed.
Goodson says "Ole!" To Burris and bursts for long run

Defenders aren't going to want to see Taiwan Jones loose in the secondary. Blazing fast.
Palmer with another off target pass. This time behind Ford. Ford still should have caught it but he didn't. Jacoby Ford with one of few drops for him so far.
Seymour was on Palmer quick blows past Brisiel and then haunts him for twenty yards as if to say "I could have sacked you 3 or 4 times now.

Lonyae Miller with nice run up middle, legs pumping. Lonyae Miller is an aggressive runner with decent burst and speed. Bush replacement candidate.
DVD continues his lock down of DHB. This time on long ball knock down breaks up Carson bomb.
DHB runs nice route, freezing Spencer but makes it look harder than it was with gut catch over middle.

Shaughnessy gets his hands up and bats down Palmer pass at the line.
FIRST camp fight...Mayo vs Branch Punches thrown, no one hurt. Mayo was talking a little bit too much earlier, but earns a draw in dust-up with Branch
DHB with nice adjustment on jump ball. Van Dyke with tight coverage, though, and breaks it up.

Practice Over The first practice in pads is in the books

    by Levi Damien:
Darrius Heyward-Bey had a couple of nice catches today but it wasn't a flawless day. He too had an on target drop. His route running looks great... at least when VAN DYKE isn't on him. Against other corners, DHB broke into the open a couple times but he still has lapses where he leaves his feet and gut catches the ball.

Yep. So far. According to Corkan and a few others...

Kinda good news, they are looking good against us and it's practice. Hopefully they can get better and do it in a game.
