Well someone has to teach Palmer how to throw swing passes and screen passes directly into the ground. It takes hard work and dedication to be THAT bad at easy passes.

I'm sure that Russell's ability to sleep during meetings had something to do with it as well. Palmer's a type A personality and no doubt suffers from both stress and lack of sleep -- a guy's got to learn how to relax and recharge his batteries every once in a while. What better place to do that then in meetings?

Not trying to hijack this thread, but imagine the numbers Andre Johnson could put up if he had someone legit on the other side! Dude is a beast.

Back to topic... what's wrong with running the same offense as the Texans? I would argue that we have more weapons than they have and they have been pretty explosive.( When AJ is on the field) I guess it could be a problem if/when we played texans ala callahan/gruden debacle. That can't happen twice in my lifetime! God has already punished me with my teen-age daughters.

It's a pro style offense that uses zone blocking scheme.

Lienart could just be messing with other teams' defensive coordinators. The "exact" same offense? I don't think so. Do you think the Patriots change their play book some each year? Of course

Shhhhhh!! You'll give away the secret that's obvious to most... but seemingly not all.

Even if it is, it's no big deal. As long as we don't end up facing Houston in the playoffs we'll be fine. The chances of that happening are pretty slim... Wait a minute. Why does that sound familiar?

The offense might be the same, or very similar, but you call the plays that work to your personnel's strengths.

I am sure there are certain plays in the Texans playbook that would work better with our personnel and vice-versa.

But the base offense/philosophy would seem to mirror the Texans offense. This was a point of debate during the offseason.

so im guessing we wont be seeing those 4-5 posters who kept harping over and over that our offense would look nothing like the texans..who knew knapp could learn new things and change??yup its baffling..pretty much everything coming out of camp so far contradicts every claim made by these guys too..lets see here: running offese similar to the texans, DMC looking good with the ZBS, palmer being able to run the west coast with rollouts(WTF he has legs??),our WRs being able to run west coast routes, utiltizing our speed for deep passes...ya i dont think ive heard anything about that stuff coming out of camp...lets bring hue back i want to get my toes done up before the season rolls around..he gets the best deals in town

As a group, our receivers are better than Johnson and the Pips.....

so we should have not problem running the Houston offence. McFadden and Foster are the best backs in the NFL so that's wash. Jacoby Jones never did **** whenever he was counted upon, same goes for Kevin "Fantasy Tease" Walter. We will be fine.

Jeez, cmon guys really? Knapp and Saunders are not gonna run the same exact offense from Houston. There may be some similarities but Knapp wasn't even the OC in Houston. I would hope they make changes considering our personnel, strength and weaknesses are quite different. I can see us taking shots downfield but not in the same frequency we did with Hue. This will be more of a timing based pass offense. Running will still be the focus but I expect a lot of screens and stop and go routes to take advantage of all the explosiveness on the personnel.

I think Criner and Ford will play critical roles on moving the chains and exploiting the slot respectively. Criner will probably end up as our red zone threat when DMC isn't running over people into the end zone. I would like to see Palmer take less risks on his passes and rely more on the running game this year. Last year he didn't have that really to lean on since Bush was more of a plodder than a beast that ran over defenders and didn't have the breakaway speed that DMC has.

I'm really more concerned about our defense than the offense. If the defense can at least keep the other offense from scoring that's all the offense needs. I think with the mulitple looks, coverage and blitzes our defense can get it done. That's if they can stay disciplined of course

The Texans were my 2nd fav offense to watch last year...

If Schaub and andre johnson were healthy throughout the season I think they woulda made the SB and im sure if we got knapp no one would say a word about his O if that happened.
