Where to sit in the HOT?

Black Hole, Lower level sidelines, or Club seats?

I have been once before and I sat on the 50 above the 14th row. This was on the Raider side. I am leaning towards the black hole this time. Does anyone know what the club seats offer as far as perks? Also is there any spots in the black hole that is restricted view?

    Cool

Personally, I would not prefer an end-zone seat, but at the Lions game last year I got some cheap seats on the 40 in the Front Row on the Raider sideline. If you do, be prepared to stand--- the players kinda block the action, and you're further away from the field than you would expect due to the baseball outline shape. But it was great (except fot he game ending, of course).

If you sit on the away side or on Mt Davis, be prepared to be in the sun and squint the whole time. But just get there anyway!

I think it really depends on the type of fan you are. If you want to get a little rowdy and don't care about the view go for end zone (black hole) tickets. But if you want to enjoy watching the game, I would try to get seats between the 20 yard lines and about 20 rows up from the field. Some of the lower rows are actually obstructed view seats. Suites are awesome as you are protected from the elements and have cool luxuries like section bartenders and easy access to grub!

Regardless of where you get your seats, the most important thing is to be at the game. It's an awesome experience!

Where to sit in the HOT?

I have had seats all over the stadium over the years and my personal preference is the 2nd deck either endzone or Raiders sideline.

My season tickets (back when I had them) were sect 329 which was north endzone 3rd deck and I love those seats. I prefer endzone over the sideline actually. I love to watch the holes open or the routes develop. I just bring binoculars for when the game is on the far side.

The areas I don't like are #1 anywhere in Mt Davis. I wouldn't even sit there if tickets were free.
Next area to avoid for me is lower section of either sideline. I sat there a few times when the Raiders first moved back to Oakland with the thought "the closer the better" but tired of those seats quickly because part of the field was obstructed by all the players, coaches, media etc on the sideline. Any time a play happened on the near sideline I couldn't see it. Also for nationally televised games they had that camera cart that travels the sideline and always seemed to stop right in front of me blocking even more of my view. What I liked about those sections was that you didn't sit down and it was always rowdy.

After that I much prefer to be on the Raiders side of the stadium over the east side. For night games it's no big deal but most games are day games and the sun shines right in your face (even on the lower sections) the whole game on that side. I much prefer the sun either to my back or the side so I'm not looking in that direction.

I have never sat lower section of the endzone either side but it does look fun.

I also have never sat in the club seats but I have been inside each club. Late 90s a girl I went to college with worked security at the Raiders
games inside the clubs (one of the ones dressed up nice and has an ear piece and all). So for a couple of seasons before she moved on she got me and a friend the wrist bands needed to get into the club. I just called her when we got there and she would meet me at the club entrance. I loved sitting there getting a drink and watching all the early games. Somewhere I have a picture of a friend getting spanked by the Budweiser girls in the east side club. There would always be old Raider legends in there as well.

I saw Al get off the elevator and head to his suite a couple times, once I was within an arms reach. But we were warned before hand not to try and talk to him (she got word on her earpiece he was coming and helped rope off the path).

Good times. If I had the money I would absolutely buy club seats as my season tickets.

I prefer the 2nd deck personally. I have been to hundreds of games there so I really don't care to be close to the field. I sit 2nd deck end zone and look straight down the field toward the Black Hole.

Mt. Davis is good if you can get a 2nd row seat or better in between the 40's.

Absolutely. 2nd deck is the best view regardless of whether you prefer endzone or sideline.

Yea I had a first row seat once and it's still higher then the highest seats of the rest of the stadium. I just hated watching the game up there. Been up there twice and never again. Eventually we have to get a new stadium (hopefully in or near Oakland). I will be so glad when Mt Davis and the rest of that stadium are no longer.

I honestly don't think there is a bad seat in the house. I used to have Mt Davis season tix on the 50 yards line (best seats ever) and loved em. Only bad seats i guess are the ones waaaaaaaaaaaay the F up MT Davis but other than that it goes down everywhere you sit.

This is why I don't want no new fancy stadium. Tear this one down and build a modernized replica of it. I Fvcking love the HOT!

I never been, but judging from what I have seen on seatdata and other diagrams, it seems that the Raiders side is much further away from the field, ???
The viistors side looks closer and I would think anything row 20 and up that side would be great.... but the visitor side gets the sun, correct?

On road games I have sat endzone, lower endzone, lower sidelines and ya you're right, the players/tv/crews obstruct alot of view, and lower endzone I find
can't see well whats going on, I spent more time watching the damn screens.... I would say rows 20-30 sidelines or like others have said 2nd deck first few rows.

I'm going to my first game at the HOT and debated awhile about where to sit... finally picked sec.141, I think row 30 or something.

Correct about the visitors sideline. It is closer to the field and yes you are looking into the sun the whole time. Some don't get bothered by it but I don't like it. And yea somewhere around row 20 or so you start getting above the sideline obstructions and have a good view.

Sect 141 isn't bad at all as long as you plan for the sun. You should have a great view of everything from those seats.
