Proof that Mark Davis and Regie M are cutting ties to the past

Do you think Al Davis would have allowed this video to be posted on the Raiders official website? It is a quick summary of the Raiders at NFL Access and their Jamie Dukes says the "inmates were running the asylum." Al never would have allowed something like this to get with 100 miles of their website. I realize we that all know it's a new day in Raiderland, but this is kind of amazing to me. He says it at 0:35 seconds in:

I think that this was a process already happening before Mr. Davis passed away. During the off-season of 2010/2011, the Raiders increased their tech dept adding Rebecca Corman as a full time employee. Jerry Knaack, the head of tech for the Raiders also was quite open last year in showing off the diverse range of fans that make up the Raider Nation, whether it be on the Raiders official website, or the Raiders' official Facebook page. What you have shown above seems to be an extension of what was already in the making some time ago.

I have great respect for that man. That (expletive) runs hard, I mean harder than anybody I've ever seen

Well I'm offended, using the word inmates to describe NFL players should be used exclusively for the Bengals.

Accepting criticism is part of any modern venture. Congrats to the Raiders.

Closed operations are a thing of the past. Mark Davis has exceeded anyone's expectations and for some people in the media suggesting he was dumb and disinterested a few years ago show how little you can know when you are not inside an organization.

I believe the organization is trying to cut ties to the perceptions the organization was dysfunctional and clandestine to the detriment of the franchise. I for one am excited with the direction of the organization. There is no guarantee it will bring with it success, but I believe the key elements are in place to garner success early and be sustainable.

"Al Davis thought all owners were dilettantes with a new toy. He said to me many times through the years that owners are often the problem with their franchises, that too many of them think they can run things when they cannot, and the teams that succeed are the ones where the owner hires the best people he can and turns the game over to them."

I prefer to view it as a "Return to Glory".

While ol' man Tootles couldn't find his lost bag of marbles as his days drew to an end, it doesn't take away from the greatness he was.

Simply put, Al Davis is a huge reason the NFL is so successful today.

I have ZERO DESIRE to "cutting ties with the past" - our past is where all our Glory is.

I for one am just glad our coaches can now coach rather than trying to please Al Davis with Al Davis' system.

Not really sure about it being proof, but Al sat his ways, and now that he is no longer controlling the franchise, things will change... hopefully for the best! !!

Cutting ties with the past is way to harsh. Mark and Reggie are remembering the past while bringing the team into the future. The organization has needed a good reorganization for years now, but that was impossible while Al was stuck in his ways. However, the soul of Raider football is being maintained by Mark and Reggie.

They also are trying to shed the gangbanger image.
