Oak - 10-6

I think KC is going to be real good this year even with Cassel as QB. Its going to come down to Oak and KC for the Div Title!
Im bored with the off season so I decided to try and predict the records of each AFC West team for the coming season. Looking at each teams schedule here is what I predict will happen (No I dont expect to be all that close when things are played out but why not take a shot now in July and see where it lands?).
After going over the schedules for each team I do think the Raiders will win the west.
Raiders 9-7 (finish first in the AFC West) I could see us winning 10 games as I look at our schedule but I think 9-7 is more realistic. Key games to see where we stand IMO are week 1 vs SD, week 4 @ Den, weeks 10-11 @Balt, home for NO. I see our first loss being home vs Pitt.
KC 8-8 KC has a brutal stretch starting week 3 starting with their game in NO. Follwed by SD, Bal, and then @ TB before their bye week (they play us after the bye of course). They also travel to Pitt and have to host Cin and Car both dangerous teams.
Den 7-9 - Their schedule is just brutal. Its possible they could start 0-5 0r 0-6 with their schedule (assuming we beat them in Den in week 4). Later they travel to Car, @ Balt, @ Cin. They play NO and those games arent even the first part of their schedule. Even with Manning playing well I don't see this team having a winning record.
SD- 6-10- I surprised myself a little with this one as I think they are more talented. But I think their schedule and the pressure on Norv will cause them to fall and Norv will be gone after the season if not during the season. Their 2nd half schedule is tougher than the first half and I think they will start better than they finish (though I am being a homer and predicting we beat them week 1). After their week 7 bye they play @Cle. Then things get tough. KC, @TB, @Den, Bal, Cin, @Pit, Car, @NYJ then they host us to finish the season. I see a second half collapse for SD this year.
Anyone else bored enough to take a shot at this?

The AFC West is up for grabs. I think any of the four teams with a bit of luck can win it. Here are my lame predictions - in that I am not going to offer up wins or losses but merely list the teams in order of those that I think have the best shot. That said, the difference is so slight - and I think the team that gets the most breaks and stays the most healthy will probably be in the playoffs.
Raiders; Offense has the potential to really break out - with young wideouts coming into their own - a healthy DMC - an offensive line that appears to only be getting better with young talent developing and an experienced QB with a very good arm. Drawbacks - personal on defense did not see a huge influx of talent and a new scheme may take time to work consistently. On offense - Palmer is a wild card - will he be reborn in the new version of the west coast offense or will we find out that it is difficult to teach an old dog new tricks.
San Diego: The usual favorite to win the West and even the Super Bowl has fallen on bad times. I really doubt that many will be picking them any longer after their penchant for underachieving. The team had a rather quiet offseason - keeping Norv and all, but are probably still the most talented team in the West top to bottom. Biggest drawback - lack of heart. The team appears to be their own worst enemy. While they are the most talented, they are also the softest. Plus they have not done a good job of retooling the past few years meaning they seem to resemble a team on their way down. This could be their last shot at the title before they begin to be considered bottom dwellers.
Chiefs: A team that has been retooling well over the last couple of years and has a ton of young talent. The team is tough. Only problem is that their offense is not explosive and their are question marks at QB. That said, if the defense can keep them close in games, they just might surprise.
Denver: Offseason problems with players and a tough schedule will probably cause this team to unravel somewhere in the middle of the season. That said, Manny is the wild card. If he can return to his old self - he just might rally the troops around him and have this bunch overachieve and surprise. While there is not a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball, their defense does possess quite a bit and if they continue to improve - watch out.
Yep, I can see any of these teams winning the west.

We want to win. The Raider fans deserve it. The Raider players deserve it, even my organization deserves it. You have to win and you have to win with a vision for the Super Bowl. That's our passion here. - Al Davis![]()

IMO raiders & chiefs have best young talent and are on the rise. Bronco's go as far as manning takes them if he goes down they're done. Chargers are too soft not the team they were 3-4 years ago
Raiders 9 - 7
Chargers 8 - 8
Broncos 8 - 8
Chiefs 7 - 9
