I am happy, Branch has heart.. he has chased down guys and saved TDs plenty, and he is a solid tackler.. he needs to work on td dance tho, td dance against Rivers was so so at best.
.The deal is worth $26.6 million, $17.1 of which is guaranteed, NFL.com's Steve Wyche reported.
Branch had already signed his $6.212 million franchise tender, but the sides were interested in an extension to help lower the safety's cap number for the 2012 season.
Terms of the team deal were undisclosed, but Branch's new contract is expected to be finalized before the end of the weekend

Tyvon Branch, Oakland Raiders reach four-year deal - NFL.com
Oakland Raiders safety Tyvon Branch has agreed to a four-year deal with the team, NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reported Saturday.
The deal is worth $26.6 million, $17.1 of which is guaranteed, NFL.com's Steve Wyche reported.
Branch had already signed his $6.212 million franchise tender, but the sides were interested in an extension to help lower the safety's cap number for the 2012 season.
Terms of the team deal were undisclosed, but Branch's new contract is expected to be finalized before the end of the weekend.
The better question is ‘what are the reasons I wouldn’t take this job.’ I mean, I’ll be here…yall won’t eat dinner tonight with all the reasons I have to take this job. Guys, this is where I came from. I’m back home now. I’m back home. - Reggie McKenzie

Glad he is signed. Good player, one less hole to fill in the future. Total $$$ on the contract not too bad. Seems like an awful lot guaranteed, but hard to say much until we see the details. If the guarantee includes his who first couple years of salary, then its not a big deal.
We needed some more room to sign some players at cut time, and pushing money forward on a guy you intend to keep is by far preferable to some other ways.
