More importantly we need to sign Branch and Reece to reasonable contracts. I don't think Branch is worth top Safety money, and I hope that's not the reason for the delay. Good players who want to win will always bend for the team. If they're truly good, they'll always get paid in the end.

i agree that branch shouldnt get top safety money..i dont know about that last part though...brees is threatening to hold out unless the saints make him the highest paid player in the league..IMO he wants to win and hes also a truly good player..sometimes though people just want to get paid..i cant fault them for that because ive never been in that situation..i would be upset though if i was a saints fan..i mean ya hes like a top3-4 QB but im pretty sure they are offering him huge money already this whole thing about wanting to be the highest paid player sounds ridiculous to me

I'm going to have to give props to Carson here. Not many of the greedy athletes of today will show unselfishness in taking a paycut for the betterment of the team. Kudos here.

That would be great if he wa taking a paucity but he's not. He still gets 13 million for this year between salary, bonuses and guarantees. Hi original contract was worth 12 million in 2012.

He actually got a raise. Lol

hmmm, what are you babbling about? Are you honestly complaing about Palmer reconstructing his deal to give the Raiders cap help, when your boy Jamarcus never considered reconstructing his contract? Jamarcus Russell didn't lift a finger to help this team, I wished you could show some appreciation for Palmer with the same intensity that you did with Russell, because I think we can have a potent offense this season. Palmer is the best QB since Rich Gannon. I'm kind of excited for this Raider team this coming season.

If Carson falls threw, forget Pryor, Reggie needs to channel AL and bring in Brett Farve, if Jim Brown can wear silver and black then why not Farve, no HOF has ever come back, he'll shock the world and it should be Brett Farve in The silver and black...... just a couple more seasons

Just like AL, when the time comes to bring in number 4, do it Reggie

Has nothing to do with Palmer. Its the googling over players for taking paycuts when in most times they dont take a cut. Palmer didnt take a paycut to make the team better, Palmer restructured his contract because it was better for Palmer, period!

This "Palmer is the best QB since Rich Gannon" **** cracks me up too. The fact is, Palmer is the best QB since Jason Campbell. When Palmer leads this team to 8 wins, then i will agree with you that Palmer is the best QB since Gannon. The guy has done nothing to show hes better for this team than the last QB, or the QB before him, or the one before him etc...etc...etc..... His last 5 or 6 years have pretty much been ****, nothing the guy has done for his teams merit comparing him to Rich. The guy throwing for a bunch of yards doesnt make him as good as Rich, winning does, not hurting your team does, improving your team does and right back to where i started, WINNING DOES.

Forgive me if i dont hold to much stock in your proclamations of success. The last guy you guys stated was the best QB since Rich Gannon is now the backup to a rookie QB in Cinci!

Wow. So Carson reworks his deal to free up some cap space to give the Raiders more to work with this season, and the usual suspects are nitpicking the deal because its Carson whos involved.

Whats funny as already pointed out, is not too long ago we had a lazy fatfuk, worthless QB that refused to even consider restructuring his contract to help the team, and some of his biggest defenders are the fuking nitpickers in this thread.

Who gives a fuk if Palmer didnt actually take a pay cut. He reworked his deal to give his GM more cap to work with to field the most competitive team he can.

But Brees already has a Super Bowl win. He wants to get paid. He also knows the team is screwed right now. If he's going to stick around they have to make it worthwhile.

    WOW!!!!

Jason's career is doing what right now? He is not a starter in this league. If he was he would be starting for a NFL team. Hell, he did not even get a chance to compete for a starting job. What does that tell you?
I can say one thing for him though, he was better than the QB he replaced. Wasn't you and No Claps also JR fans to the bitter end?

Yep, it's transparent and old. If it weren't for Carson, we would've lost every game after the Browns game.

Also had we not made the trade, who would be our QB in 2012? Boller? Pryor? Leinart? Welcome to the 1st overall pick in 2013.
