How many touches would you want darren mcfadden to have this upcoming season?

Mcfadden is coming off a pretty serious injury which hurt our 2011 tremendously. Everyone, including Raider fans, is skeptical about his health. will mcfadden be able to play a full 16 game season this year?

if it was up to you, how many touches would you want mcfadden to get this year?

DMC shouldn't be getting all the touches. We need to wear out the defense with DHB, Ford & Moore and THEN run DMC and Goodson down their throats when they're gassed from trying to cover our speedy receivers.

Other teams are going to expect us to spam DMC, so let's make them respect Palmer's passing game, which will in turn open up the run. Let's not forget HB slip screens, either.

I don't have a set amount of carries that I want DMC to get a game. He needs as many touches as it takes to win the game because that's what he's paid for and he's our lone game changer. If the other RBs are hot and taking a good size role in the game then so be it, that is great, but we need to lean on DMC when the others are not producing.

I know that some want to say "limit his touches," but we may not have a choice in the middle of an NFL game and that is the way it is. Knapp has said that they are all going to get touches, but I guarantee you two things. One is he will get a lot of carries if the other two are not effective. The other thing I can guarantee you is that if DMC goes down we are a different team. I hope he is playing like he did before the injury, and I hope he does not see extended time injured.

DMC is what gets those receivers going because he must be accounted for every play. Those WRs will never be able to carry an offense alone. There is not one that is going to be a game changer week in and week out. None will bring what DMC does, like say a Megatron or Andre Johnson. All of our WRs are 4th round or later (except the one that can't catch with his hands and we have to use in special ways), and UDFA, and they have big play ability, but I believe they need DMC or another dynamic player to get the cogs turning in our O. That's why the loss of DMC hurt us so bad. The sum of our parts is much stronger than each individual. We can win without consistency from the WR position. Each given week only 1 or 2 needs to be making big plays. It worked for us last year and DMC is the glue that holds it together.

I hope he doesn't go down because I don't think he will take a pay cut to stay here. I think there would be a few idiot teams that would take a chance on him, and pay him big money. We would then need another dynamic player to center an offense around.

I said 226-250. Knapp is a run-first guy and I expect him to use McFadden a lot this year, but I also expect it to be a much more balanced attack than in the past. I also think we will have a 2nd string RB by committee that will receive a total of 100-200 touches.

The guy is the best in the league. Absolutely no less than 250 touches.

I'm all for limiting his touches but I had to vote in the 320-330 range. That's about 20 touches a game total. I'm also including passes caught in that number. It's not just about him running the ball. Approximately 17 rushes and 3 receptions--something like that. At 4 ypc that's almost 1,100 yards rushing and 48 receptions for Whatever number of yards. If he were to average 4.5 ypc his rushing total would be over 1200 yards. That's good production without running him into the ground. And assuming we get average production from the rest of the RB rotation, our offense should be in good shape.

But the thing is, you can't put a firm cap on how many times he touches the ball. If we need him to do more, then that's what we have to do.

I voted for the 275-300 range. Thats 17-18 touches a game and at that rate I think we can be highly successful. If DMAC could handle more then I would be giving him more, but IMO that's the minimum.

Only on plays where their is maximum potential, no bringing him in on a run play where its very likely just to get 1-2 yards

Same here and I'm including 50-70 receptions for the year........I would like the #2 RB ro see 150 or so touches as well including receptions.

Touches means he should get 300. 250 rushing 50 rec. That should be the bare minimum. Anything less and that means he is on the sidelines way too much no matter the reason.

I have to think you don't watch much football. Unless you are on the other guys Two, there is always more to be had.

I voted for 351+ just because, if he gets there, chances are he's gone through the season with out injury.

Knapp is going to have a lot of runs that are simply wear down the defense type of zone runs, example: short yardage situations, or if the defense is stuffing the run but Knapp still wan'ts to use it to keep playaction then don't beat up Mcfadden for a little gain esp when hes a potent receiver out of the backfield.
I know that he can spring a big one at anytime but a good coordinator has to feel the O line play, are they making holes, are they attacking the second level, are they sustaining blocks which lead to big runs, if the o line is playing poorly I dont want DMC getting wasted by Knapp, period.
