That's how you play football, son.

Ayso is a .sig genius!!
one thing i am happy about with reggie here is that i believe he will start doing what we have needed for so long...start using high round draft picks on our front 7 and not our secondary..besides mcclain when was the last time we spent a 1st or 2nd round pick on Dline or LB???i honestly do not remember..just in recent history how many have we used in the secondary?? aso, huff, routt, washington, buchanon, stu? hell i know theres more i just cant remember right now
Thanks for posting the vid Cheap. Good stuff!
I think the fact that Reggie hired Allen - a defensive coach; is a strong indication that the new GM is dedicated to fixing the woes of that side of the ball. Our defense has not been good in some time. We will find out this year, just how much of that was a matter of scheme and how much of that was a matter of personal. I am really hoping that we will find out that it was largely the former and not the latter. If that is the case we should see a huge improvement on defense this year.
Thats good stuff. Nobody went across the middle when Tatum was back there. You actually see LB's making plays for us... Dan Conner 55 and Monte Johnson 58 are doing what a MLB should be doing.
Speaking of LB's and great defense in the 70s, check out the Steel Curtain. Why were they the greatest? Because they had to beat the Raiders.
The single most horrifying hit I ever saw on the field is shown starting at about 1:43. Like the guy says, I thought Mel Blount killed Cliff Branch.
Great rivalry, great defense, check it out.

You can definitely see how today's rules have taking the fear and intimidation out of the game.
Thanks for sharing!
Like Madden said --"When you played us you knew you'd been in a game and you wern't going dancing that night".
One of the things that truly defied the Raiders...
Sure long bomb for a quick 80 yrd TD, but the hard hits is what it's all about in football, and that was the Raider way!!
hope we can still see it within the rules of course!

Seems like the only thing that's going to 'appeal' to Commandant Goodell and his legion of emasculated flag-football fans is putting Helmets on the Cheerleaders and Skirts on the players.
I present to you a sneak peak of the 2015 NFL season.
"With the first pick of the 2015 NFL Draft...The Oakland Raiderettes select... Caroline Palmer, Quarterback, Cupertino Ladies Finishing School"
The Oakland Raiderettes vs The Philadelphia E-Girls.
Commenting on their recent close win over the Minnesota Viqueens, Oakland's D-Linewoman, Chloe Butler, girlfriend of the Detroit Lionesses Defensive Co-ordinator Ndamukong Suh had this to say:
"I feel a little bit bad. I broke the Minnesota quarterback's arm in our first game. I was kind of happy for our team that I put her out of the game but I felt bad..." The injuries go both ways, though she notes. "I am riddled with bruises every day. I think the guy at Starbucks thinks I get beat up by my boyfriend."

^^ If only our team looked like that during that post 2002 , losing would of not felt as bad, yet they played in roughly the same manner haha. They should have that during half time.
