Well, the new regime already hired Knapp, this season is full steam ahead with Knapp like it or not, and complaining about the guy before training camp even starts is closed minded.

But yes, lets see how the season goes, if the offense struggles everybody will be ready to tar and feather the guy and run him out of town.

I think the offense will be fine this year, but it's a time will tell situation.

That's what I am saying. I don't know if our offense will thrive or not but there is nothing in Knapps history to suggest he can't be a good OC with talent so I am hopeful we will see a good offense this year with him at the helm.

If the usual Clappy pattern holds true, Knapp will be the next great offensive coordinator that takes the NFL by storm. I'd put down money on it if I were a betting man.

But really, the only thing that concerns me is if we're running a bunch of short patterns and whether that tendency bleeds over into 3rd downs. Throwing 5-yard passes on 3rd-and-7 drives me ****ing nuts. Otherwise, I'm happy to give Knapp the benefit of the doubt wrt his last stay here. What he had to work with was historically awful. So bad in fact, Al Davis jettisoned his #1 overall pick after only three seasons. This is the same Al Davis who has stuck with how many scholarship players?... So yeah, clean slate and all that. Show me something, Knapp!

    Fans like you kill me.

You bash bash and bash until we start winning.

Then you jump on the bandwagon.

You go out of your way to come up with anti Raider slant and root against many of our players too.

All the while you have yourself ready to take the leap on to the bandwagon when it becomes opportunistic.

When we start winning, you will say you were on board all along hoping nobody remembers the drivel you spewed.

When I read a Clappy post, I go into the post understanding that it is written through a lense that I can't truly and completely comprehend. Basically, I don't understand his "plight". I don't "get" his pain. I can't see how he suffers, etc. and etc., etc.

Clappy will likely never be a fan of Knapp. Here is my opinion of why that is:

Claps blames Knapp and his "boring/horrible" play calling for the failures of Jamarcus Russell. Do you agree Claps?

It is impossible for him to accept that Russell's failures were a direct result of Russell being lazy, dumb and highly overrated. For Claps, when an individual points out that Russell was lazy, he takes it as a personal attack on the African American race. When you say Russell was dumb, he takes it as an individual calling all African Americans dumb, etc. etc. But what Clappy fails to realize is that we see Russell as a dumb, lazy, talentless bum, and it doesn't matter what color he is. Derek Anderson is kinda a big dummy and I don't say that just because he is white, I say that because he is a big dummy. Russell was a big dummy. I don't say it cuz he's black, I say it cause he's box of rocks dumb.

Anyway, when one's mind is so overly sensitive to race, as it appears to be with our boi claps, he will play these endlless, pointlesss, and frankly childish games with himself. And unfortunately we get in the way of his mission. Knapp was a disaster in his opinion. Why? Because Jruss failed in Knapp's system. Therefore, Knapp is going to be viewed as a sub-par OC, because the only other alternative is to acknowledge the TRUTH Jamarcus sucked and sucked bad.

So, this thread, like nearly every other thread he is involved in, will continue with the smoke and mirrors chase of Claps trying to prove to himself things that simply don't need to be proven. You can't argue with a guy who is so emotionally and personally invested in the conversation. For me and others its about football and what is best for the team, etc. For Clappy, it's about the "perceived" racism that doesn't exist. Yadda and yawn.

When you consider this, can you not now see why my sig is so priceless?

    Oh yes, yes you do.

nobody cares about russell or what he did in oakland with Knapp, knapps decline started after leaving the nest in SF down to seattle, but Ive already talked about it before in another thread, he doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt

I'll slightly bolster your point by adding that Russell actually played his best Raider football under Knapp who knew his limitations. Early on with Knapp keeping Russell in check with the limited playbook, mistakes were minimized. At the time the O-line was pretty bad and few QBs would of succeeded, but Russells later revealed lack of discipline and effort has clouded recollections of the complete circumstances. For a short period most of us fans actually saw promise in Russell......Russell unfortunately quit on us, it was the system following Knapp where Russells shortcominds came to obvious light.

That said JK I think your over the top calling Russell talentless......... We may have a difference of opinion there.

In the end Al Davis took a big gamble and lost.

He didn't go to Sea after SF he went to Atl and had a good deal of success. Then he came to Oakland, and then Sea.
And as I have talked about before Seattle's offense improved under Knapp from where it was the year before he got there. And they had very little talent on O at that time.

Meh, even in his best days, which I agree were with Knapp, Russell had very little talent when you consider the skillset of even average QBs as a backdrop. Could he throw the ball far and fast? Yes. Was he inaccurate? Oh yes. Was he too dumb to read a defense? Yes, for sure. His lazyness aside, I don't think, even with the utmost disipline/preparation Russell would have amounted to more than an average QB. He just didn't "have it".

To be honest, Russell's only real talent is throwing the ball super-humanly far. He isn't accurate and the word cerebral only applies to him if you're being facetious.

Edit: JoeKiev, started to respond that comment earlier and forgot to submit it until now. Didn't mean to repeat the exact sentiments in your post right below it. Guess great minds think alike.
