Snake has been in worse situations. I've got faith he'll still come out on top.

Love the Snake and I hope things work out for him. Owing that much in taxes means you generated some good money /assets somewhere.

Than their is the arsehole IRS collecting more money for the govt to piss away on crap.

That sucks, hope everything works out for him.

I noticed some folks saying he needs to be the next Raider in the HOF. I respectfully disagree. Cliff Branch needs to be the next Raider in the HOF.

AL had 3 Super Bowl rings... Branch has 3 Super Bowl rings. Do the math.

Who was the only player who could still make game winning plays against the Steeler's steroid defenses?

If you said Branch, you'd be correct. He was still a better athlete than the steroid guys.

AL's legacy has to include turning Branch into a great WR.

Comparing him to Stallworth and Swann, he put up better numbers than Swann and was about equal to Stallworth. All three have 3 Superbowl touchdowns. Swann and Stallworth both scored more postseason touchdowns, but Branch had more post season catches and yards than both.

Taking out the comparisons, he was an all-time great deep threat. I don't get it. I haven't heard a legit reason why Branch isn't in. Did he take a dump in the voters' coffee or something?

Yes is it pre old man aluminum walker, when Al could still throw a spiral.

Branch would not have made it on any other team.

Comments on threads like these are why I say to all players. GET YOUR MONEY, HOLD OUT, do whatever you have to do to GET PAID!! All the fans who don't have lingering chronic pain, dementia, etc are the ones saying "get rid of him start the rookie", "trade the guy, he's not bringing it like he used to" etc.

I don't care if it's Woodson, Aso, etc on the RAIDERS. LEAVE IF YOU HAVE TO AND GET PAID!! Take your services to the HIGHEST BIDDER and get compensated for the pain, and effort you put out there. Loyalty isn't a two way street at all. I'd be as deaf as Hellen Keller during contract time from the talk of "do it for your city/team" WHATEVER. I'll do it for security and family. Team and city takes a backseat to that.

    Wish Stabler the best!!

The steelers got EVERYONE in on their championship run teams. Both deserving and underserving. Steeler receivers being in there when they didn't put Irvin in and are giving Chris Carter the run around is laughable at best. They are in fantasy and political land up there big time. Never bought into that hype at all about towel waving land.

His autograph must still carry some weight. Time for him to bust out all his Stabler rookie cards and sell them with this autograph!

Much respect to Stabler, but remember you reap what you sow... he had a pretty decent gig with Alabama and his drinking did him in... hope he can get clear of the IRS, but accountability has to come into play at some point in a person's life...
"You can't Appoint, Hire, or Declare Leadership" ~ Sonny Barger

"Al Davis thought all owners were dilettantes with a new toy. He said to me many times through the years that owners are often the problem with their franchises, that too many of them think they can run things when they cannot, and the teams that succeed are the ones where the owner hires the best people he can and turns the game over to them."

Obviously, nobody has all the FACTS on HOW he ended up in debt to the IRS like that.

The FACT of the matter is when it comes to the IRS is that anybody with a lick of common sense KNOWS they are thieves.

They keep your money all year long and don't pay you one dime in interest then, IF... IF... you qualify according to THEIR guidelines you get a portion of the money refunded back to you they OVER taxed you on!!! What a scam!!!

A). If they withheld 5000.00 a year from you every year over 45 years without giving you one red cent in interest (which they do) then give you back 2000.00 that CAN add up to a MOUNTAIN of money lost.

B). It's purposely set up this way because if they did it vice versa and tried to collect the taxes you owed at the end of the year without withholding anything there would be an uprising against the government. Not to mention, there wouldn't be enough jail space in the world to put everybody. BIG government is BIG business!!!

C). If one does not know the loopholes in the incredibly complicated tax code, have the resources to help guide them, get poor advice (Ken?) or plain doesn't care (Ken?) you are at a major disadvantage.

SEEMS to me what needs to happen is the old system should be chucked out the window and a graduated flat tax put in it's place.

hey man it sounds nice when you are just talking about it but unless you actually take action to change it well were all stuck with it..i love this country..really because its all that i know..are some things messed up here ya of course but i know it could be a hell of alot worse for me..if someone can make the changes to get this country back on top id welcome it with open arms..IMO the only way we would get real change the kind that changes this country from top to bottom would be a revolution..ill tell you this there is no politician out there that can help you...like they say money is power and right now this country is ran by less than 0.25% of the population

Pretty easy to guess. Got paid without withholding, didn't put some aside for the tax man. This can happen to anyone who strikes out on their own and gets paid cash or check. Then start the interest and penalties, which can be reduced substantially if you talk to the "thieves" early on. I am sure Ken knew the rules, but didn't follow them. Not surprising for a guy who could always dig one out in crunch time, but threw way more int's than TD's in his career.
