Counters to NFL passing games? Elusive - NFC North Blog - ESPN
maybe he wasnt so wrong after all, vertical offense, 4 man rush, create mismatches. He wasnt right about everything obviously, but theres a lot of AD in that article. I think we just never got those bookend corners like he really wanted. Makes me sad, seems like the game made it where he thought it would go and he's gone.....
Very true, he did at certain points, the thing that makes me upset though is that the passing game now didn't evolve naturally, the rule changes have done that.
When you had the 83 redskins score the most points in a season, the 98 vikings or the 99 rams, it was truly something special, Dan Marino what he did was incredible, now all of it is getting watered down by the league itself. When the 02 raiders were on fire as a passing team Gannon only threw 26 touchdowns, when we got to the goaline it was crokkett time. Nowdays Brady, Manning be in the shotgun only a couple of yards out.
I dont mind the game evolving naturally like with the 02 raiders, or the 99 rams, buit the NFL is close to making a parody of itself
The reason offenses have gone crazy is that you can't touch the QB or receivers any more. AKA the PREMIUM PERSONNEL.
