So why does brees, Brady, and rodgers seem to do just fine with terrible defenses? Because they don't constantly turn the ball over, that's why.
Stop the excuses man.
Well...I'm not going to presume anything serious until I see him start; but than again, a full off-season of practice is definitely better than a start right from a couch mid-way through season, so looking at it that way, things should improve on all things passing. Let's not forget that he isn't the only one to blame if something goes wrong, there are others out there that should improve...like O-Line.
Palmer will step up not worried. I do worry however about the supporting cast lol
When did CP become a QB that we should all be concerned with?
This is what Fantasy Football and round the clock NFL coverage has done to some fans.
The guy had almost 4000 yards passing in 2010.
The "mistakes" are only indicative of his play in that certain situation he was in.
There are a whole lot of reasons why a guy throws a lot of picks out of the blue like that.
Ask Phillip Rivers.
Rushing wise we were also 27th in yards. But as you pointed out we were last in YPC given up at 5.1. Both GB and NE gave up much fewer yards but their YPC were not good either so I think that was more their offense did a better job of scoring and forcing the other team to pass to keep up. GB gave up 4.7 ypc and NE 4.6.
Rushing TDs GB beat us by a good margin as we gave up 15 and they gave up 10. NE gave up 13 rushing TDs.
Our defense was terrible and that was/is a huge problem but the offense is also not in GBs or NEs league at all. Because both those teams were far better than we were last year and their defenses were only slightly better even with how bad our D played. And our offense played BOTH of those bad Ds and was not able to do enough to keep it close even in either case. We hung with NE for a little while with JC but in the end we didnt have enough firepower to keep up with their offense. They would move the ball and score against us. We would move the ball and make mistakes before scoring against them. Our offense last year was explosive but not efficient.
You don't throw for 4000 yards if you aren't capable.
You don't see many QBs on 4-12 teams throwing for 4000 yards.
That is a fact!
Thank You for that totally lame analogy.
Guys like Flacco, Schaub and Alex Smith are not the type that can put a whole team on their backs, but last year all those guys played their parts on good all around teams and were very successful.
If our defense can improve and the running game stays explosive Palmers job will be that much easier.
