    Clayton nails Oakland call

I’m a bit surprised by this outcome.

In our AFC West poll this week, we reviewed John Clayton’s projected 2012 win count for each AFC West team. Clayton set Denver at 10-6, San Diego at 9-7, Kansas City at 7-9 and Oakland at 5-11. We asked readers to vote on which Clayton prediction is the closest to what will happen in the division in 2012.

As of 2 p.m. ET Wednesday, readers think Clayton’s best prediction was Oakland's 5-11 record. It was very close. Oakland received 32 percent of the vote, Denver received 25 percent, San Diego received 22 percent and Kansas City received 21 percent.

I don’t necessarily see the Raiders winning just five games this season. I see that total a bit higher. I think I would have voted for San Diego. I can see the Chargers being in the 9-10 win range.
Why was Jackson fired again? Lol, I know a lot of people want to believe that the Raiders will surprise, but as I noted, before Clayton, this team has seemingly taken steps back from last season.

Hue is now a special teams coach with the bengals. Shows much other front offices didnt really care about Hue as a HC, he wont be missed especially by me. One thing i will give him credit for is improving the offense but his leadership as a coach was terrible, throwing guys under the bus to the media when he should have kept it in house.

Jackson was fired because he was anundisciplined ninny when he didnt have someone over him like Al. We are not going 5-11 this season with the team we have unless we have worse injury luck then we did last year. This poll was just haters and uninformed losers.

Lmao this is your proof? I see more proof that we have taken a step forward. Firing Hue was a big step forward in itself.

Because he was the HC of the most undisciplined team in NFL history.

Isn't he a janitor in Cincinnati now?

A highly in disciplined Raider team wins 8. Take away the ones who committed the most, bring in discipline, bring back a healthy McFadden, give Palmer a whole off-season, strengthen the offensive line, bring in a teal coach an GM........yeah, I can see us losing 3 more games than last year.

Nah he wasn't qualified. He has to wash jock straps this year and maybe next year they will let him handle a broom.

fvck it then, let's not even play the games... Let's hire Hue Jackson back and go 7-9 and listen to him after games saying "I promise you we not going to blink. We're going to fix this I promise you that. This is unacceptable and this football team is going to blink until I fix it. This is on me and I PROMISE YOU we're going to get back to work and fix this thang. As soon as I get my nails and feet done, I'm going to fix this thing and blink later".
We want to win. The Raider fans deserve it. The Raider players deserve it, even my organization deserves it. You have to win and you have to win with a vision for the Super Bowl. That's our passion here. - Al Davis

You forgot the part where he blames the players right after saying its his fault.

Good stuff! Funny but true. He became a silly broken record and the players were catching on that the dude simply had no depth, no real plan and the recurring sound bites were getting old and laughable for all of us. Well, almost all of us, with the exception of a few fans here.

I am pretty sure that Clayton's rankings has nothing to do with Hue Jackson being gone.

It has more to do with the FACT that the Raiders have a new OWNER, a new GM, a new HC, a new OC, a new DC, and a new ST coach. All of them are totally unproven. None of us, including Clayton, know where the Raiders will land in 2012, To be honest they can end up anywhere between Clayton's 5-11 and 11-5. The Raiders are at a crossroads. The signs, so far are positive. How that translates into wins, we do not know.

For the first time in 50 years, the Raiders are venturing into the unknown.

    Kinda exciting, isn't it?

I agree and disagree - I agree with what I underlined, but I believe that the Raiders will miss him on offense. How much will depend on Knapp.

I cannot imagine having more injuries than last season - starting QB, RB, WR, etc. So, Clayton is uniformed too? I agree that 5 wins may be a little too low - but just a little. Regardless, it would seem that the Raiders will likely finish closer to 5-11 than 9-9 this season.

Proof? Who said anything about proof - this is just an indicator. There will no proof for either side, until the season starts. However, if this is proof, it is only proof that my fears for the team are not irrational.
