The owner sabotaging himself? Not sure that's even possible. Unless they are saying they are sabotaging the situation to make Carol Davis do something she is opposed to right now (LA?). I simply don't have that kind of inside information to know. But that is the only thing I can think of and this person would have to be in real close to know. Other then that we have yet to see what they can do and won't know for years. To me if they fail it would be because they weren't good enough, fair and square.

I believe with what has been done so far he is helping the Raiders but until we actually see what this team does (and it will take more than just 1 season) we will not know for sure either way.

How can any conclusion be drawn, for or against? We've yet to see the product Reggie and Mark plan to put on the field. Personally, I don't believe that this year will be a fair assessment of either of them given the limitations and circumstance of the 2012 off season (draft picks, salary cap, etc)

That being said, I like the direction of the organization and believe the future of the franchise is much brighter than its recent past.

That's what I'm saying, Time will tell.

That time has gone, if Reggie does fail we wont going back to Al and Hue, those are two guy that will never lead the Raiders again.

I am curious on the reasons behind the whole "sabotaging" argument. Why would McKenzie and Allen want to completely ruin their careers? Who would this benefit in any way?

The pain is not over yet we will face some tough choices next year until we get thinks under control with the cap. Making a decision on whether Reggie has or has not hurt the team is totally premature. All signs point to we are starting to head in the right direction. Who cares what anyone says at this point because that is NO RESULTS to base a decision on. Thank goodness TC is open in 25 days.

I'm in the middle of a heated discussion with a guy on another forum who is convinced that Reggie and Mark are sabotaging the franchise and that we were better off under AL's and Hue's control. Does anyone else want to weigh in on this? give me some pros and cons. TIA.

Bingo. Converting the Raider franchise from what it was to one that will be continually competitive is not something that's going to happen overnight. The organization was pretty messed up -- this is not a secret, everyone knew it -- and it'll take a few years return the team to financial health.

Exactly! Agreed every word......and now I have prolonged it with another thread to say this....

Building properly gets you a team that can win year in and year out.....Mortgaging the future gives you a small window..
I would not want a SB win if it has to be followed by 5 losing seasons or more.......I want to enjoy watching a competitive team every year and thats what Reggie is doing.....

Bottom line! A lot of fans think we are a lot better than we really are because we should have won the division last year. The whole division sucked last season and some one had to win it. I'm looking down the road a bit and we need a lot of help.
