Is this the thread where we pretend LA fans would show up for 7 straight double digit losing seasons?
Oh you mean the team that was built in Oakland, heading to another Super Bowl, and just happened to win it after a season and a half in a new city? Yeah those guys.
And what happened after that? They became synonymous with NWA and ruined their image, that's about it.
Funny how LA hasn't had a football team in 17 years. I guess that's what happens when the city and fans give up on not one team, but two.
There's money there, that's the only reason.
I can't believe they are talking downtown too. That place is flat out gross. Nuke it and start over.
People also forget Goodell said the Coliseum is a prime location and that's right where a new stadium needs to be.
Carol Davis has also made it clear she hates LA, and Mark Davis has made it clear he wants to stay north. That's why he's talked of a new complex on the same site, a complex in nearby Dublin, and sharing with the Niners.
The only reason he hasn't said a flat out "No" to LA is because he's a smart & politically correct business man. He's not going to burn bridges that he doesn't need to.
All you fans that live in L.A. keep dreaming the Oakland Raiders are not going anywhere They will stay in Oakland 4 ever have fun traveling to the Bay.
Well no public statements can ever be really trusted because everyone chooses their words carefully especially Mark Davis in this matter. But it is well known that Mark loves LA. He has a condo in the towers across the water from me in Marina Del Rey. ( a side note, I met Al Davis in the Elevator of that building and I was blown away when i saw him, my Al davis experience :-)
Anyways, Marks' recently been seen here at basketball games in LA, and meetings that would suggest he is seriously seeing what can be done to get a stadium deal here in LA. And the economics of a move to LA just make sense for any business person. lets face it, Business will always supersede loyalty. And people that say Marks mom wants to keep Raiders in Oakland, thats just wishful thinking. Not even Al Davis was Loyal to the city of Oakland. He has and always would do whats best for the franchise thats why he left Oakland the first time. He left for the same reason that presents itself now. The only difference is that now LA is going to build a stadium this time. We can't be naive here and think that Oakland is going to be able to pull off a new stadium. There has never been anything reported that Oakland is or can be in the situation to provide a new stadium. And most people know that Oakland doesn't have money. Only 187 is saying that Oakland has the money and that nothing financial is prohibiting Oakland from building a new stadium. Are we to believe 187 biased words or the writing that has been on the wall for 7 years and common sense. don't get me wrong 187, as I posted before, You're one of the only ones that has followed this situation over the years closely, and I've always respected and appreciated the facts that you have posted in the past, but I believe bias have overcome youBut dont get mad 187 still mad respect for you bro. we just have different opinions.
The NoCal and SoCal fans do need to stop bashing each other and making smart a$$ digs at each other everytime this subject comes up.
the fighting is weak. Time will tell wont it and we will see who's right !!!!
Or maybe the reason he has talked of a new complex and talked to Dublin and talked to the Niners about sharing is because the NFL has made it clear that the team moving must first exhaust all remedies of getting a new stadium built in their current city. Mark can then meet with NFL Owners and present his evidence of why a new stadium can't be build in Oakland or nearby. At least that could be one theory. . .

Mucho ruido y pocas nueces..
als_shadow always seems to have an angle on AL. What say you shadow?
AL's most likely last wish would have been to move the team out of Oakland after having to endure home games with under 40,000 fans in house for most of the last losing cycle. Only in California is it proof of fan support to have under 40,000 fans at an NFL game. The rest of us are laughing at you. AL knew this and gave you (and the other 31 NFL owners - well. 30 anyway, AL like THE Jerry) the middle finger when he decided to try and blow up the salary cap and tank the team.
This AL moment was brought to you by als_shadow. PO'ing everyone just the way AL would have wanted him too.
The Raiders are as good as gone from Oakland and only the loyal Oakland 30,000 fans can't see it.
