The network announced Wednesday that hall of fame announcer Chris Berman will handle the play-by-play duties during the Chargers-Raiders game on Sept. 10 in Oakland. It is the second of a Week 1 Monday Night Football doubleheader.

It will be the first time Berman ever calls a regular-season NFL game.

I think it's great he's getting the opportunity and his first gig happens to be a Raiders game. He's one of the few talking heads these days who are unreservedly supportive of the S&B.

Have them both up. I am guessing the radio will have the action at least 5 seconds ahead of MNF.

Does anybody else think that Berman's voice is on it's way out. He sounds like he has issues with his throat when he speaks in low tones. I like what he has to say but sometimes I don't like the sound of his voice. I hope he doesn't have any physical ailments there.
