Man, we're fine at WR position and I bet Reggie didn't even think twice about this guy. Harvin doesn't really fit with what he's been doing. He's more concerned with his check and touches and numbers. Reggie wants team guys that all buy into a philosophy.

All I see is "Percy Harvin to the Raiders" kinda misleading is all.

I would've titled it "Vikes looking to trade Harvin" or "Harvin requests trade" I don't know something like that.

I would take Harvin in a second. I would trade Ford, Murphy, Bey, 5th 6th and 7th in any combinations you want I might even trade it all for Harvin.

My personal feeling is this isn't a Money issue, i just think Harvin wants out of Minn and you would be fools not to want him.

He has 2 years left on his deal, if he doesn't report by Aug. 6 he has to wait another year to hit free-agency. They will not trade him. They may give him a little more money, but they won't tear up the contract. He will not be traded. Yes he is probably better than what we have.

The dispute isn't even about money to those who keep saying it is. The guy was only seeing the field 58% of snaps and was still one of the most productive players on the offense. He's frustrated with a garbage coach, a noodle armed qb, a weak supporting cast, and 3 teams in their division they can't beat without a 2009 brett farve taking snaps.

I concur he needs to honor his contract. He is looking for a pay day and we don't have the money nor do I think RM and DA would want him. We don't need any "issues" on the team.

Maybe I am the minority here, but I am a firm believer in Taking/getting the Best Player Available, no matter if it is not a pressing need. Besides its not like our Wideouts are probowlers or anything I could understand if our squad was the tandem of Fitzgerald/Bolden/Breaston Or Rice/Brown/Jett but its not its DHB/Moore/Ford, I'd take Percy Harvin over any of our Current Receivers (Except Moore) all day long ...


DHB: while Improved Drastically is still a "work in progress"

Ford: is Reminding me of Johnnie lee Higgins (Not a good comparison)

Murphy: went from being head and shoulders our best Wideout his rookie season (not good) to someone who is mearly fighting for a Roster spot

Harvin is definitely a very good player, but we don't have a lot of money to spend and our young WR unit is starting to develop. I understand what you're saying about taking the best available, but you have to look at the opportunity cost as well. I'd rather take a chance on our WRs and bring in a few quality depth players for the same price and without having to surrender anything in a trade.

I was reading it's about "love" (more playing time) and money. Like the writer said he will get some love, that guaranteed playing time when his agent and him talk to the team, and a few million. Obviously he won't keep himself from being a free-agent an extra year. That big pay-day will be more important than the playing time, isn't it always? 10 teams or so took him off their boards because of his attitude. Let's see if a disgruntled player is more about money or playing time.

I'm confused, does Harvin play defense? Because last I checked, our defense is what needs to be improved drastically. Unless Harvin can come in and either stop the run or cover WRs without committing 168 penalties, I'm sure he's not needed

Ok so Harvin does not want to be traded(just seen it on NFL CH).He just had a fit because they weren't giving him enough attention at camp :-)))). Please quit jumping on the player roller coaster,especially the primadonnas.I love this fan forum but woooow.Lets let those new guys who just got paid a lot of money to help us come up do their job.And then comment,I do like reading some of these threads though.:-)))))
