He's not going anywhere that's why there called rumors. Why would we release a weapon like Ford with killer speed and play maker ability??? If that rumor is true that would be the dumbest thing the Raiders would have done in the new era.
I can't remember when it started, but for the longest time I have been hearing rumors about the Raiders getting rid of Ford. I was recently watching a video (link below) on CSN where Paul Gutierrez brought up that when Moore went down it was UDFA Streeter and not Ford who took reps with the first team. He then goes on to insinuate that there was a reason Ford didn't take the reps with the first team and that reason being he is still not over the JC situation.
Out of all of the receivers we have on this team my personal favorite is Ford, and I think that other than Moore he has the greatest upside and versatility. Has anyone seen an interview with him recently (or noticed any other articles about him)? I know Ford was close to JC, but with Jackson gone and a new era beginning in Oakland he needs to stop resenting Palmer and get his priorities strait. I really hope Gutierrez was merely speculating because we cant afford to lose Ford's skill set (just think about the 2010 Chiefs @ Raiders game).

He very much is a diva. Not to the extent Schilens was, but he's on that side of the personality spectrum. He was pissed off last year with how the whole JC situation was handled but I don't think it affected his play. In the time he had with Palmer (the Denver game) he played superbly and he had that 41 yard reception against SD but unfortunately he was injured on that play and was out until the final game of the season. He'll be our slot receiver and should receive plenty of looks. I think part of the reason they gave Streater the looks on the first team in mini camp was a litmus test as to where he's at developmentally. Doesn't hurt to give an unknown quantity (who has been lighting it up) looks with the starters in mini camp when you know what your other players can already do. If it was late in training camp heading into the regular season I suspect Streater wouldn't have been given the looks.

Darnell Dockett speaking about Darren McFadden, the BEST running back in the NFLI have great respect for that man. That (expletive) runs hard, I mean harder than anybody I've ever seen
He's workin as 1st team slot rite now but im expecting criner to take over there
He's gonna be a MONSTER if he stays healthy. Dude can flat out fly and he's gonna be really tuff to stop in the slot. Streater isn't gonna take Fords spot trust me. I feel like Ford has the most upside of any raider.
• Palmer and Ford not very close . Bc of the JC . I even noticed last season that Palmer under/over threw when he HAD to pass it to Ford . .
Bumps to Paul for the suspense . !

Not as big a diva as Schilens. Schilens has been "injured" when he has had a minor bruise on his leg. He is a total wuss.
As for Ford, he's on the diva side but he still has good relations with the fans. Went out of his way to take plenty of pictures with fans whilst injured pre-game against Miami last year. Managed to have a short conversation with him, very approachable person.

lol at all this specultion. they put streater in because ford plays a different WR position then Rod and criner. stop mking stuff up, in fact him and palmer had goo chemistry going until he got hurt in SD game.
Some of you guys are just full of sh!t plain and simple. The only place I have heard anything negative about Ford is on this site by members of this site who don't no
sh!t about what goes on in the locker room. Show me one thing RM, DA, the OC, the WR coach or any player on this team has said negative about Ford. I'm waiting!

Practice?
I love how Jacoby gets treated as if he has the emotional capacity of a 13 year old girl regarding his friend JC. Carson came in to replace Kyle Boller and sure everyone saw the writing on the wall for the off season, but there were games left to be played. Then what happened, the guy got legitimately hurt, period.
Ford has shown flashes during his career so far. He has made some exceptional plays. However, he is not consistent. At the moment I am putting that down to him being young and still learning.
As for Streater taking over when Denarius Moore went down, that is consistent with the positional play of the WR's. Ford is playing the Slot at the moment. His competition will come from Criner. It may be that the team prefers size at the position. In any event, Ford has the ability to move around. At the end of the day it was a mini camp adjustment for an injury. Rather than mix around the whole line-up, a straight one-for-one switch was made.
There were stories surfacing last year aften the Jason Campbell injury and subsequent Carson Palmer signing. Ford and Murphy (who attended Campbell's wedding after the season), were said to be unhappy. Some suggested that both dragged out their injury rehab longer than they needed to (I think Paul Gutierrez was one of them from memory). Mind you, you could make that point about McFadden, too (though it is not the case).
Regardless of what happened in 2011, this is a new season and a new regime. For Ford to keep improving he has to put the past behind and focus on what he has to do. He is now under a bit of pressure with the emergence of Criner. He can either go on and be a star for the Raiders. Or he can fall down to a #5 WR on the depth chart, relying on his PR/KR skillset to hold a roster spot and then move on when his contract is up. It is up to him.
