I recently heard Greg Pappa say that Ford wasn't going to be our slot WR. That shocked me. Pappa said that Ford is a straight line speed guy and doesn't have the "moves" needed by the WR in the slot.

Now it looks like he's dropping in the depth chart in mini camp......

I don't think anyone who saw that KC game will ever call Ford a diva.

The man was honest about his feelings with some Raider fans so that makes him a diva? Come on Mo.

Since when did Pappa start calling the shots? When I hear RM or DA say something I'll start listening.

    LOL

ford doesnt play the no.2 slot, so why would he be in?

its why miller lite's sorry ass was in the game a couple years ago when he let a 35 yard TD throw bounce off his face while a better receiver was on the bench

The staff may want to reduce his playing time on offense to keep him fresher for the return game.

If he was butthurt about JC tough sh1t he will have to get over it this is the NFL. He has a very team friendly contract.
To be fair Ran, it is just not Corchran and Gutterirez. If memory serves, I am pretty sure Dee alluded to it in his lockerroom reports last season. If I have gotten my reports crossed then I apologise. There was numerous reports of miscontent in certain areas of the lockerroom after Campbell got injured and Palmer was brought in (including erroneous ones about DHB). This continued throughout the rest of the season, and afterwards with reports that Hue Jackson lost the lockerroom. Where there is smoke, there is fire.

There rest of your post we agree on.

I was actually not referring to Corchran on this issue he has just turned into that guy. I am not sure he ever reported this. It is possible that Dee mentioned it but he usually sticks to the facts.

I actually do not mind Corkran too much. He tends to not be the "throw the brown, stinky stuff against the wall and see what sticks" type of guy. He is pretty straight up, especially in his chats. Obviously it is opinion based on what he sees and hears.

    Guittierez is another matter though.

I do not want to push on Dee as it is outside of the Premium forum (rules and all that). There was a lot going at the time. The Campbell injury, the Palmer signing, the McFadden injury, the Ford injury, etc. Just somethting sticks around Dee saying about issues with Ford and what happened. It could have been Murphy. There were reports flying left and right from that time on, so I could be mistaken.

However, there were so many stories about it, you have to wonder.

For those talking about Ford is moving down the depth chart tell me that in Aug and Sept. There is no way to get any kind of read on depth charts right now during OTAs. This is the time of year where coaches give the little guys a chance to show what they have with and against the best that they have. Streeter or Criner getting reps with the first string means nothing except they have worked hard and the coaches want to see if/ they might fit with the team. If Ford isn't one of our top 3 WRs come late pre-season then you can take something from that but right now where and when he is being used means nothing at all.

Yea I remember Dee reporting some locker room turmoil last year after the KC and Den losses I believe but I don't remember specific names being mentioned. Just some guys being upset about how the JC situation was handled and all that.

But we then went on and won 3 in a row after that and the chatter stopped until the SD loss and then I remember Routt being the main issue.

How can a KR and as DA stated "strong candidate" for the PR duties, not have enough "moves" to be a slot guy??? That makes no sense. Aren't most WR who return kicks slot guys???

Agree, It took me by surprise. Maybe Pappa thinks it should be a bigger guy?

I'm still cracking up over the Nick Miller reference. That guy was a training camp legend. Kinda puts all the stuff going on with Criner and Streater into perspective.

I am not saying Ford will move down the depth chart at all. I said it is up to him. He is being challenged, however,

I just look at the make up of the starting 3 WR's:
DHB, good size and fast. Emerging as the #1.
Denarius Moore. Fast. Down field threat. Undersized. 1 year wonder?
Jacoby Ford. Slot Receiver. Undersized. Good potential. Inconsistant.

What the Raiders lack is a big, go to WR who can move the chains on 3rd down. Schilens was thought to be that guy but never made it. Now we have Criner. It depends on how Knapp wants to develop the offense and how the WR's develop during camp.

I will go out on a limb and say that apart from DHB, who gets what playing time is up in the air. Including Moore and Ford. They new guys brought in will press and, in the new regime, draft status and salary means nothing.
