Thanks for the article. I'm really looking forward to this year. I hope Manning is back to his old form. Will be a great game and it will be sweet when we win.

Klis: Peyton Manning's no-huddle offense could solve riddle of the Raiders

Peyton Manning doesn't have to throw for 5,000 yards in his first season with the Broncos. Although in today's NFL, 5,000 is the new 4,000. (John Elway, a quarterback of the long-ago 1980s and '90s, passed for 4,000 yards once in his 16-year career.)
Nor is it imperative for Manning, the longtime Indianapolis Colt, to guide the Broncos to early leads so pass rushers Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller can ignore the run and concentrate on their human bull's-eye. Although this, too, would help.
Manning's most important task in his first season with the Broncos?
Figure out how to beat the Oakland Raiders in his new home.
It's long past time for the Broncos to again suffocate the likes of the Raiders, San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs in games played at mile-high altitude.
Here's a weird stat: The Broncos in the past three seasons are 1-8 at home against their AFC West foes from Oakland, San Diego and Kansas City. In that same span, the Broncos are 6-3 on the road against division opponents.
"That's bad. That's not weird," Dumervil said.
The Broncos' 2012 schedule is considered difficult because in seven of their first nine games they play teams that qualified for the playoffs last season.
The playoff teams aren't the toughies. No game for the Broncos will be more difficult than Week 4 against the Raiders in Denver.
The Raiders, who haven't made the playoffs in a decade, are 4-0 in Denver since losing a game they should have won in 2007. Maybe the football gods are exacting revenge for Mike Shana- han calling that timeout in overtime just before Sebastian Janikowski nailed what appeared to be a game-winning 52-yard field goal. Remember? Janikowski's second try pummeled high off the upright and bounced back. The Broncos went on to win.
The Raiders have been embarrassing Pat Bowlen in front of his fans ever since. In 2008, the Raiders whipped the Broncos, 31-10 in Denver.
It may not have been the single reason the Shanahan era ended after 13 seasons, but it was one of them.
In 2009, all the 8-5 Broncos had to do was beat a 4-9 Oakland team led by third-string quarterback JaMarcus "Where have you gone?" Russell, and they would have made the playoffs. The Broncos lost 20-19.
The Raiders game in 2010 was arguably the worst single-game defeat in Broncos history. The Raiders went up 38-0 early in the second quarter before settling for a 59-14 final score.
It was no coincidence that Josh McDaniels was fired not two months later.
Just because Bowlen never was as ruthless as the late Al Davis doesn't mean he isn't just as competitive.
Last season, in the much-anticipated Denver debut of the John Elway-John Fox era, the Raiders bullied the Broncos to a 16-3 halftime lead before holding on, in part because Kyle Orton couldn't.
Soon after, Orton would be gone.
What a spray gun is to painting, what a microwave is to cooking, what Internet shopping is to credit-card debt, Manning's no-huddle offense must be to the Broncos' offense.
"You can't just say no-huddle," Dumervil said. "We have to play good defense. We have to play good special teams. We have to take care of the ball. Obviously, the no-huddle is going to be a major part in that department."
Dumervil was starting to warm up to the idea. Altitude alone couldn't stop the Raiders, Chargers or Chiefs. But altitude and the no-huddle offense? It would be like sucking the wind out of the AFC West.
"I've gone against it, and it doesn't feel good," Dumervil said. "And that was at sea level (in Indianapolis). So I can imagine that in altitude, it's going to play its part."

Manning's no-huddle offense could be a nightmare in Mile High for opposing teams. That altitude is already tough to deal with, but put a no huddle offense on the field all game and defensive players are gonna get gassed quick. This is why being able to run the ball will always remain so important. Keep that alien looking motherf'er off the field and we'll be alright.
Meh. Altitude shmaltutude. It's all about execution and we will see if Payton can still make the quick throws and how he's going to handle playing on grass outdoors for an entire season.

I understand the concept here, and I played football for many years......but won't the altitude effect the Broncos offense as well? Maybe not Manning as much since he wont be running, but I mean Manning didn't invent the no huddle and he isn't all that accustomed to the altitude in Denver. Maybe there is a reason you haven't seen a no huddle consistently used in Denver.....because it effects everyone....not just the visiting team!
Go for the neck ... is all I got to say.![]()

Mahalo Blackhole John
Teams are going to have a bounty for Manning.
Beating Raiders in Denver is a MUST for Manning
Only because the fans are idiots, and don't want to suffer a Raiders loss at home, I think they would be happy if they went 1-15 with the only win being against the Raiders LOL
All I can say is we need to beat there donkey A$$ at home, and a sweep would be great to![]()

Right. In a nutshell the Donk players body adapt by producing more red blood cells that adapt to carry more O2 into and out of the tissues. If all things are equal the Donks should and historically have had a huge homefield advantage.
Top Five Homefield Advantages in the NFL | Bleacher Report
It's a quick read, but it points out the advantages the Donks should have over other teams.
its gonna be the highest viewed football game in regular season history
we better show up and WIN or we will NEVER hear the end of it
What better way to deflate the Broncos than to stomp them AGAIN in their backyard, even with the almighty Peyton leading their offense?
I can't wait till Seymour or one of our other defensive players lays a hit on Manning that will have the TV cameras zeroing in on Bowlen as he $hits diamonds with every hit Peyton takes......I'm not condoning deliberate hits to hurt a player, but I know the Denver fans HATE losing to us on their home turf, so every hit we exact on them to take away their advantages, is all good for me! I LOVE THE SOUND OF BOOING IN DENVER!
Words of a MASTER TACTITION .... Lets ignore the Running Game of a RUN FIRST Offense.for Manning, the longtime Indianapolis Colt, to guide the Broncos to early leads so pass rushers Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller can ignore the run and concentrate on their human bull's-eye. Although this, too, would help.
