There's very little mystery to anybody's defense. Thry all use 11 players, except when they can get away with more... I've never seen all 11 players rush and I've never seen no players rush...

so...it is a common occurence that one of the most storied well coached teams in history chooses to not even bother with film when they play us?

Nnamdi definitely said they would be getting in trouble for that and even more telling was what McNabb said about us NEVER blitzing, much less zone blitzing so they were not prepared for it. A guy on the o-line for the Pats said on Sirius one time that when it's raider's week bellicheck wouldn't even have the offense watch film. Said there was NO MYSTERY to the Raiders defense...called it a waste of time

Agreed, but some people would rather kill the messenger (Huff) than face reality. We should all be happy that we will have a modern offense because the old way stopped working a long time ago. Even with the outdated system we had one of the DLines when it comes to getting after the QB. A well planned defense which allows blitzes to come from all angles keeping the offense off-balance is going to be great. Might not happen in 2012 but it is coming!

This is what has me most excited about the upcoming season even though their will be some growing pains.Not expecting a new scheme to suddenly fix everything but its a step in the right direction imo.Just letting coaches coach is a step forward,I,m sure RM will hold them accountable...The NFL has changed for the worse over the years so unfortunately the D has to change a little as well.

I love Huffs enthusiasm,hope it translates to better play on the field.I do think he could have just said he was excited about what our new HC and DC are bringing to the table and left it at that.No need to basically throw mud on AL even if it is or isn,t the truth.

ChuckieB1 and 2 was a disgrace,he sucked as a DC no matter where coached in the NFL.Can,t see him ever being a DC in the NFL again which has to tell ya how bad the hire was...Our "linebackers coach" defense was the laughing stock of the league.

How is it possible that bresh was one of the worst D coaches ever if he was with us when we went to the super bowl?Just a question not defending the fool by the way.

Our offense was a juggernaut that chewed up clock, kept them off the field and playing with a lead. No one would confuse our D that year with the 2000 Ravens, it was just adequate (especially when our offense struggled) despite being fairly talented.

He should STFU and play. Too many people here lay our poor performance on Chuck. Chuck didn't miss a single tackle last year as far as I can tell.

A new, more dynamic scheme will certainly help in some ways but it still comes down to execution and discipline and that's on the players.

I expect to see Giordano and Branch back there as safeties. Huff moves to nickle and covers the 3rd WR.

My view on this is that I don't mind what he said, I just wish it came from someone else's mouth. I'm not the biggest Huff fan. all I ask is that he now goes out and back his words, because after this the excuses are all used up.

and to Jeff's comment, i like the 4-3 as well, and I really didn't mind Al's basic philosophies. I just preferred a higher football player to athlete ratio, discipline, fundamentals, and more creative ways to get to the QB.

It's amazing to me how many people were calling for Huff to be cut before camp. I wonder how many are now backing him in this thread in spite of pedestrian reports from OTAs and the minicamp.

Don't get me wrong. I've consistently said I would like him to become a good player. My beef is with ANY player, particularly a marginal one, spewing venom from his pie hole while failing to perform. Or even while performing, which clearly is not the case here.
