I can understand his excitement, and I'm not offended that he brought Al into this, but really there was no reason to. His statements are really a non-issue to me. Most people are excited to see the new scheme. If the scheme is not good this year, he will just say the same thing if he is bad in it. He will take no blame. We all know he can not tackle to save his life.

He said nothing of the sort. He merely said that the DC and HC will be free to make the decisions and that he's glad that Huff is excited about the coaching direction. He made no mention of Huff's comments about Al and his tendency to control the D:

Were I Huff, I'd likely take that as Reggie's way of telling me that I had no excuses, I'm officially on record as saying that I like the coaches, scheme and they way business is being conducted. And, as the boss, "I" think that we're on the right track and that's ultimately the only thing that matters. Again, we also have no idea what conversations Reggie has had with Huff.

Well where has the discipline been the past few years? Every year we change players and coaches, yet during these past 10 years, there's been ONE constant. And during these past 10 years, we have seen chaos and dysfunction on the field and behind closed doors....

Here we go... Yet another person who can't read and doesn't get it.

Nobody is saying updating our scheme and having coaches who reinforce discipline is a bad thing. If you read the pages and pages of debate and thought for 10 nanoseconds you'd realize the point is: Huff is failing to acknowledge his own responsibility in our defense's failures.

I guess some people think it's always the other guy's fault. It isn't. We all must take responsibility for our own action and performance. Some of us feel you shouldn't throw rocks when you are such a glaring example of a guy living in a glass house, if ever.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough but your last paragraph is exactly the point I was trying to make. Reggie probably agrees with Huff, but at the same time thinks it's time for the players to perform at a high level.

Seriously you have the most rediculous comparisons. The NFL is a business unlike any other in the world. Camparing it to a computer company makes no sense. If someone in Oaklands front office has an issue with anything Huff said they can cut him and he will get a job somewhere else without much of a problem because he can help a team and THAT is all that matters to NFL execs. If thats the worst thing Huff says to the media then the only people who will ever have an issue with it are those that felt Al Davis was still at his prime and ahead of everyone else in the NFL.

Huff didnt cross a line. He didnt even come close to the line. He simply said he likes what we are doing now more than what we did in the past. Unreal how someone can get upset at that kind of statement. What is this PMS day?
