The Raiders placed a second-round tender on Bryant, a restricted free agent, and the deadline has passed for other teams (at the cost of a second-round draft pick) to potentially sign him. Bryant could receive a lucrative extension or sign a one-year deal for a guaranteed $1.92 million and then become an unrestricted free agent.

I hate players like Reese all they care about is a damn pay check instead of the team and how bad they need him to be there and to learn the new offense what a shame to the Raiders organization i say we trade him or work something out that he wont be on this team if he keeps thinking about him self, get with the program or get out i'm sure the Browns could use him.

Obviously Reece has outplayed his contract and hopefully a long term deal is in the works. I would think he fits into Knapp's WCO.
Aaron Curry is my current favorite Raider, not only for his play on the field but, including the fact that he took a pay cut - not to be confused for restructuring.
But Desmond Bryant is another Raider that I'm personally counting on to be a solid contributor this season.
When your contributions to the mission have been as solid as Reese's were this past season, he's entitled to be careful with his career - taking into consideration the extremely short career-expectancy of RBs in the NFL - I hold nothing against him for taking care of his own.

Some guys its a business, which is fine. Others it seems really play for the team. Fargas comes to mind, not the best player in the world, but I don't know how anyone could have ever doubted his effort. Richie was the same, guy wanted to play football. Farve was the epitome of this. From the outside, its pretty hard to tell, but here are my picks for guys that just want to play football...
Bey
Curry
Kelly (at times)
Giordano
McFadden
Palmer
Might be more, don't know. Was honestly sort of disappointed I couldn't find more. Be curious to see if others have more.
Bey-$38.25 million along with the guarantee
Curry -$60 million contract including $34 million guaranteed
Kelly-$50.5 million contract
Giordano- i don't think he has made more than 7 million in his entire carrier(2004-present)
McFadden-$60.1 million contract which included $26 million in guarantees
Palmer- first contract $21.7 second contract-$118.7 million
all these guys minus maybe giordano have been paid handsomely already. (they made or had their payday)
Its hard to find players that haven't had multimillion dollar deals already that just want to play.

Fair enough. I wasn't trying to knock Reece or anyone. Guess what I'm realizing more than anything else is how few veterans we have that have been raiders for a while. I should have included Seabass in the list before, he really does like playing ball (in a ****ed up way). Kelly is there. Otherwise, I don't see a guy I really think of as a Raider. Huff ? ugh. Has he really been here 7 years doing not so much?
