Are there people in this thread who are actually attempting to blame our offense for our underachievements?
lol. It's like they live on a different planet!

Our offense did perform well until it was decimated by injuries and we rolled out a quarterback who'd been eating cheetos on his couch two weeks prior. Unless of course you happen to believe that losing the #2 running game in the league did not negatively impact our season, in which case we really aren't going to find any common ground whatsoever.
Still, our offense did generally put up enough points to win given a mediocre effort by our defense. I suspect if we had retained Marshall we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Pity about that.

For those of you claiming it is a team sport, you are 100% right, and at the end of the day the only important stat is W's. However, no one plays both sides of the ball so it is not unfair to break down a team into offensive and defensive units.
The offensive unit certainly has concerns, such as inefficiency in the redzone, but overall I feel comfortable with this unit if they can have a relatively healthy year. They definitely have some kinks to work out, but to me this is more a product of having an extremely young team that switched leaders midway through the season. While offense is a question mark, I feel safe saying I think the question mark will be answered with an exclamation point.
The defensive unit, though, was terrible. Do you know what happens in the Raven's locker room when they let a game winning 99-yard drive happen? Nothing, because it never happens. Our defense let it happen in the Bills game, the Lions game, the Chargers game and God knows we should have lost the Chiefs game the same way (thank you Mr. Seymour). A lot of this came from Bresnaclown's joke of a defense, but their performance last year did nothing to inspire faith that we will improve. Hope I'm wrong, because if DA can improve this defense we will be in the hunt for the AFC West crown.
Looks like WalterFootball can't make up his mind about the West. Has the Chiefs winning out, but has us going 8-8. And the Broncos. And the Chargers. That's quite the set of predictions there :p
I dont think they were "dumb" I just dont think allen did any research at all when he took his position as head coach and it showed...painfully
hopefully he gets his head on straight and makes better decisions for 2013 and beyond
Definition of insanity : Doing the same thing over n over expecting different results lol..... allowing Palmer to start for this team again brings forth predictability as he so showed us last yr....
Indeed, tons of yardage, touchdowns and an all around reliable signal caller. I'll take another helping of that, thanks.
Hopefully RM can get us some more guys like Palmer this offseason.
Yes, this is me mocking you.
