No way we go after him. Maybe if he's lucky someone might add him to their scout team defense how do you stay in NFL type shape while being in prison for 5 years and eating nothing but trash and doing push ups? That conviction ruined his career he might have a good chance in NFL Europe or Arena Football still.

Wont he get cashed out or can't he sue them/her for all that b.s. he went through? If so he wont have to work another day in his life now that would be a happy ever after story.

Yea that's crazy. False rape claim causes him to go to prison and lose his chance as a mlb at a premier college. He lost not only his chance at a very good education but also his chance at playing in the NFL. There should be some kind of penalty to the female for making that claim and ruining his life and aspirations.

That falls on the head of his lawyer who convinced him that if he went to trial he would get 41 to life.

That's quite a bit for a 17-year old to digest

I'm all for it...this kid deserves a chance with all of he crap he went through.

I know if it was me...that 1.5 million this witches family was awarded as the result of his conviction would be finding it's way into my bank account along with more from the state and the lawyer for wrongful prosecution.

Well in a rape case where it's her word against his a jury believes the women almost every time so if he pleads not guilty and loses he spends a much longer time in prison. He pleads no contest (I'm sure it was part of a pre arranged deal) he gets much less time behind bars and never actually admits guilt. Often times its a choice of the lesser of two evils.

If someone accused you of rape and your lawyer tells you you can spend a short amount of time behind bars by pleading no contest or you can plead innocent and risk going to prison for 25 years (I'm just throwing that out there as an example as I don't know what the sentence is for rape) would you risk it if you didn't have any solid evidence to prove your innocence?

the defense attorney told him "they are going to see a big black guy and you'll be guilty no matter what"

what a horrible thing to say to a 16 year old kid, he got scared, they said he'd get 18 months if he plead no contest. He ended up getting 6 years instead

its messed up and it pretty much shows how corrupt the legal system is.

I remember being told "yes, you have a good case. I charge $750 an hour for court cases. Do you want to settle or go to court for at least a week?

Unlike current day celebrities, I was in no position to buy my way out, innocent or not.

Well Ms. Gibson has to be charged with fraud. She used a lie as leverage to win a million dollar settlement. How is that not fraud?

    statute of limitations?

I believe she committed perjury, not fraud.
