He is absolutely camp fodder until he is not camp fodder.
Rich Gannon was drafted out of Delaware by the pats simply because they wanted to convert him to a DB. When Gannon refuses the notion, he's traded to the Vikings. Gannon leads a team to an 11-5 record, only to be doubted again and demoted (despite success). In Kansas City, he has to sit and watch Steve Bono make a mockery of the position for two years, followed by another behind Elvis Grbac. Grbac goes down in week 2 and Gannon proceeds to lead KC to a 13-3 record. But guess who that dumb ass Schottenheimer starts week 1 of the playoffs?
GRBAC! (By the way, they lose that game, for those who don't remember)
Gannon comes to Oakland...
My Point? If the NFL didn't have their head so far up the SEC, Pac10/12, Big10, etc... ass, we might have been able to watch Gannon have a hall of fame career instead of just a few records under his belt in a late career run with the Raiders.
Kyle Newhall-Caballaro is a 6'3" 214 lb kid who runs a 4.59 forty with a strong arm and an IVY league brain... who is already being counted out by EVERYONE and gets to read about it each day.
I love those types of guys for the QB position.
