“@johnsromero: @CorkOnTheNFL more completions or catches for Pryor this year?” -- Completions. Should see some mop-up time, spot duty at QB.

Honestly I dont care who the 3rd string QB is. I think Leinart will be the backup unless Pryor just outworks him for it. With Leinart's knowledge of the offense and experience he SHOULD be the backup...if not...means he's not working hard enough imo.

As for the new guy? If he's the next Tony Romo I'd be more than happy to have him.

But I dont want to see any of these guys this year. I dont want Carson to get hurt cause otherwise the season is over.

Rich Gannon was drafted out of Delaware by the pats simply because they wanted to convert him to a DB. When Gannon refuses the notion, he's traded to the Vikings. Gannon leads a team to an 11-5 record, only to be doubted again and demoted (despite success). In Kansas City, he has to sit and watch Steve Bono make a mockery of the position for two years, followed by another behind Elvis Grbac. Grbac goes down in week 2 and Gannon proceeds to lead KC to a 13-3 record. But guess who that dumb ass Schottenheimer starts week 1 of the playoffs?

GRBAC! (By the way, they lose that game, for those who don't remember)

    Gannon comes to Oakland...

My Point? If the NFL didn't have their head so far up the SEC, Pac10/12, Big10, etc... ass, we might have been able to watch Gannon have a hall of fame career instead of just a few records under his belt in a late career run with the Raiders.

Kyle Newhall-Caballaro is a 6'3" 214 lb kid who runs a 4.59 forty with a strong arm and an IVY league brain... who is already being counted out by EVERYONE and gets to read about it each day.

I love those types of guys for the QB position.

Comfy with Leinart? Hm. That's interesting.

If you were at boot camp and had a rifle that jammed on your first two tries of firing at the shooting range, would that gun even make the flight for your T.O.D.?

    Just sayin!

He tried but was unsuccessful. The Raiders also got Blake Griffin to play some TE. Gonna take over that Teyo Johnson role of "just throw it up nobody can cover him!!!"

Towner ... I really like this guy too. Hope not to see him for 3-4 years but after Carson Palmer retires with a ring ... youneverknow.

    I will be honest...

I too (for some unexplainable reason) think Leinart has gotten a bit of a bum rap in the NFL. However, the lack of success he has had in the NFL is not unlike Bollers.

I refuse to feel good about Leinart as a back up until he does something that warrants me feeling good about his prospect as a QB in this league...

Until then... C'mon Pryor and yes, even C'mon Newhall-Caballaro.

CAN YOU PLEASE ROUND UP SOME VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS OF KYLE NEWHALL-CABALLARO AT BROWN?

(Note: I didn't want to start a new thread, just figured we could do it here. I will bump accordingly)

Here is all I could come with so far.

Not the best throw, but can't tell much from that. Fine little TD run at the end.

    More?

    Best I could do.

But c'mon, Brown? I mean, it'd be great if the guy can play but successfully moving from a school like Brown to the NFL is beyond doubtful. Since 2000, there have been exactly 3 players who have played in the NFL -- Zak DeOssie, Chas Gessner and Sean Morey -- and none have started a single game. How anyone thinks that this guy will come anywhere near sniffing the roster come opening day is beyond me. Of course though, it'd be fantastic were I to be proved wrong and he made everyone forget names like Brady and Manning.

    SLVR and Black...

    I couldn't agree more.

I put the chances of Kyle Newhall-Caballaro having success in the NFL, roughly at about the same low low low probability that I put in Matt Leinart suddenly not sucking balls in the NFL.

    Here is the difference.
-Newhall-Caballaro has yet to fail in the NFL.
-Matt Leinart has failed famously in the NFL... and for those of you who have lost concept of time... 6 seasons. Don't give me any injury history in reply. The guy has literally done nothing well in the NFL. It's not like this is a knee jerk statement either. 6 F-ing seasons people.

How'd it work out for us in giving Kyle Boller his 8th and 9th chance?

What's that? Catastrophic you say? Well I agree.

    Hmmmm.... Fool me once...
