The kid showed us what a real safety is supposed to look like. You know, one who actually reads QBs, tracks the ball and helps his cornerbacks out. Too bad he doesnt have the physical tools to move to the next level and sit Huff down. Good signing, good depth.

Liked the resigned him he reminds me of Considine the Safety who used to play for the Eagles under the late Jim Johnson, and now for the Ravens. Gio shows the sames drive and nose for the ball. Hopefully he turns out the same..
that Mike Mitchell pick is looking worse by the day.....................
Wow! A lot of hate for a backup. It's depth at a weak position. Not only that but the guy is a worker who loves the game, kind of sounds like the type of guys RM wants. Hard work and dedication can be infectious, this team needs guys like Gio for that purpose. Give credit where credit is due. That "He sucks" nonsense needs to go.

Big thanks to Blackhole John for the sig.

i like giordano he kinda surprised me last year.. he cant really tackle but he's pretty good in coverage and i hate to say it cus it make our dbs look weak but he's by far the best playmaker of all our dbs
I like Gio nice solid depth that can play some and help the team. Now if he was being brought in to be a starter that would be different. He just doesnt have the overall skill set to be a good starter but nothing wrong with having him as depth.
RIP Al Davis you will forever be in our memories. I know I was very critical of you but I always have and always will appreciate all you accomplished as a RAIDER!! I will root no more or no less for the Raiders and be no more or no less a Raiders fan now that you are gone.

Not a Gio fan but options are limited...
Toss out the numbers. He played with the Saints in 2010, under Dennis Allen. He played part of 2009 with Green Bay where RM was with the Football staff there. Our staff has history with the guy and know him well, being under Allen in NO, he's another on field coach.
The dude goes after the ball! I was wondering if he would be resigned. Glad to hear it.
I'm happy that they resigned Giordano. He's no star, but he was an ok backup last year - he made his share of good plays, and he made his share of bad plays. I'm not sure what people expect from backups - I haven't seen anybody throwing out great alternatives. He may not make the final roster anyway, but he's certainly good enough to push for a spot.
Some of you guys kill me. He sucks? He's garbage? Seriously? How about 8th best in INT's for the league last year. In 9 starts! Plus a FF and a sack. Does he need to improve his open field tackling? Yes. But if the front 7 did their job he wouldn't be faced with one on one situations nearly as often. There aren't many players that can face running backs in an open field one on one and win consistently. Some of you play too much Madden.
Outstanding signing! Smart player, hard worker, good locker room guy. He's part of the solution to changing the culture, not the problem. Unlike many here I'd even take him as a starter. Work on his tackling and he'll have the production of a top ten safety, again. Only two FS's put up more INT's then he did. Dude has room for improvement, but sucks? Hardly.
