yeah exactly they were so sure they couldnt lose they turned down FREE help from the BEST lawyer in California, totally a bad move, I fully believe he wouldve won, he was SUPER smart AND A huge Raider fan even before Al was there, Old School Oakland Family. He was part of a consortium that tried to buy the raiders from Al to bring them back to Oakland in the early 90s

I sense a struggle here among fans that were born, or currently live in Oakland vs fans that do not have any ties with Oakland. Of course its easy for someone with no ties to the city to say theyll remain fans.. I was born in Oakland and would go to A's/Raiders games as a child. My family eventually moved to Texas cause I was sick and needed a change of climate. I have always had a deep love for the bay area and I feel that the teams that are there have established a genuine historical legacy that natives feel proud to be a part of. As another person stated, imagine if the Chicago Bears became the "Rockford Bears" or the "Aurora Bears", people would flip **** and the tradition/history of the team would be left in the dust. (This is just a fake comparision, as Rockford is smaller in Pop. than Chicago). I would feel lost when The Raiders would play, as they would now be representing another city, and not The Original city that I was born in. I truly hope Mark Davis doesnt move em....but then again..I wonder what the hell Oaktown is doing to prevent that...

Pains me to say it, but the closest team would be the damn 9ers, as my grandfather was a union worker in Local 38 for decades..

Personally I dont care if they move to LA (although im not a fan of any other LA teams). Whatever helps the team in the long run.

Yet you are forgetting that many like myself in their mid 30's, grew up Los Angeles Raiders fans and lost the team as well, so we also know what it like to lose our beloved childhood team. It is very simple, you stay a fan or you leave. Some fans are so passionate they would never leave the Nation, and others are sentimental and would not continue their loyalty. There is no right or wrong way. . .myself, I love the NFL and I could never root for any other team besides "My Raiders". To me, they are not the Los Angeles Raiders, or Oakland Raiders. . .they are "My Raiders", wherever they play is not of importance because I will fly across the country if I have to. It would be nice for me to have them back as I could buy season tix and bring my kids, but I wouldn't lose sleep if they didn't come here.

i somewhat agree, I am torn between my loyalty to both the city and the team and my belief that you should be able to do whatever you want with your own ****, like putting Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars...

Well, if Mark Davis (Sorry, I just can't bring myself to refer to him as "Davis" quite yet) did move the team, we'd probably see more home games televised!

You've proven my point for me, I would never argue that population doesn't play into it, in fact, it is the number 1 mitigating factor. Oakland does not have the population to compete with the number 2 market in the United States. The real Raider fans in Oakland are devoted loyal fans who are amoungst the best fans in the world, but unfortunately, they alone can not make the financial impact to make us a powerhouse. It is why the Raiders will instantly become better off. More population = More revenue, it's very simple economics. It's why they build Malls in cities where populations can sustain the business, not in okie-doke little towns.
You can't be serious. Oakland is in the Bay Area. The Bay Area has around 8 million people, excluding those in the Sacramento area, who also attend Raider games. The Bay Area has some of the richest counties in the country near Oakland. A number of factors have led to low turnout, but population and regional economics are not the major determining factors. It's also very telling that you point out other L.A. teams attendance, but ignore the Raiders own population attendance in L.A. In the end, however, a new stadium will draw fans and that can be done in Oakland. IMO, openly rooting for other cities' teams teams to come to your town is pretty low, no matter the justifications.
I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but having people try to justify a team leaving it's city/region of birth and breaking the hearts of its fans is pretty aggravating.

exactly but its also Lucas's right to put him in there if he wants just like Al drafting for speed, if you dont like it then you should figure out how to end up with our own NFL team like Al did, and run it the way you want to run it

Firstly, the LA crowd are not flakes. To this day the most die hard raider fans are from Los Angles. All you oakland people are talking about not being a fan if they left. Well guess what? us "flakey" LA raider fans are still die hard even when they left us!

Secondly the LA Collesium seats well over 100,000 people. Very few stadiums with that capacity can be filled every week for NFL games. And Cmon, with the exception of this year, oakland could not fill the stands with fans. We had blackouts all year long 5 years in a row. So stop with the LA flakey fans. There is no bases for that label. Oakland needs to look at themselves first before they start pointing the finger at LA. Cause right now, without the raiders, we are die hard lakers and dodger fans and we support 100%. Pfff, flakey? cmon, get real.

    excuse my french mods

I guess the term "Raider Nation" does not mean SHYT!!!!!!!! anymore?

I see posters ready to turn in their gear if the Raiders pack up and leave..well I have one thing to say about that...

GTFO ALREADY!!!!!!!! If you are gonna bail on the Raiders just because they move a few miles down south then you might as well bail out cause the Raider fans I know would stick with the Team even if they moved to butt Fu*k EGYPT

not meaning to piss anyone off up north especially season ticket holders who contribute their hard earned money year after year..but lets get serious here, the Raiders organization is a business first and foremost and if you get a better deal in LA it would be remedial of you to stay where you are

if you cant handle change then go be a Donkos fan like the pu*ssy dolts fans are

Exactly. I mean if it's Ravens/Steelers battling for a playoff spot or something, yeah I can get interested. But sorry, I just can't sit through your average Cardinals/Browns game or whatever at this point. CBs can't touch the WRs. LBs aren't allowed to tackle. No one can touch the QB. Next year we'll probably see 4 or 5 QBs topping Marino's old records. We're probably 2 or 3 years away from NFL looking like NFL Blitz honestly...it's basically Madden already.

The teams in LA were a helluva lot more competitive then the teams we had the last 10 years. 45K.
Sometime last year I had a post that broke down the yearly attendance for LA and Oakland. If I remember correctly, Oakland did have a higher average # of fans that Los Angeles did. Again, you're right that the Los Angeles teams were far more competitive than Oakland has been for nearly a decade. If the Raiders are competitive they will sellout. If the Raiders are not competitive in Los Angeles they will not sell out, if the Raiders are not competitive in Oakland they will not sell out. Just my opinion.

P.S. I did a search of my posts to see what comes up and it doesn't show me all my posts. Anyone know how to see all of your posts? It may not be an option I guess
