My sources tell me the team is already being very proactive with redoing deals with many of the names you mentioned. Bush is very very much on the Radar for next season as is a Solid DB to pair with Routt.

If sheppard keeps playing the way he has I got no problem hiving him a 3 year deal to finish his career here parting with Johnson and going with DVD and chekwa as backups

Stop with all this crazy talk! DMC is our best player. So what if he only plays half a season, he will and has single handedly given us W's. We wouldn't have the record we have if it wasn't for DMC. Did you guys forget what he did for us last year? Why do fans give up on the players so easily? Hopefully the Raider brass will be smart and keep DMC a Raider for life. Imagine if he went to a team in the division? God help our run D!

Lots of people aren't saying anything bad about DMC, but saying Bush is worth keeping too.

Agree completely. It's Lito's job to lose at this point, he's playing once again at a probowl level and our pass defense is all the better for it. I think Sheppard/Routt can be the ball-hawking pair similar to what the Packers have.

John Clayton said McFadden's foot hasnt really gotten any better since he got hurt. Not sure if he knows what he is talking about, but it sounds legit considering we havent really heard anything positive about him....

I don't want the raiders to release Dmc, but if he can't stay healthy they might need to restructure his contract... I'm not sure exactly what he is supposed to make the next couple years, but he was a top draft pick so I would figure he's going to make 8-10 mil...

Its important that the Raiders keep Bush, because not only does he play well for them, but he seems to be very durable... I can't even remember Bush missing a game the last couple years...Most likely the raiders will have to overpay Bush in order to convince him not to leave for another team where he can be their feature back....

Honestly was frustrated over the Dmac thing maybe a week or two ago, but with the way Bush has been playing I'm honestly not even trippin over it that much anymore...Hopefully TJ can at least get healthy, so he can share some of the load as well.....As long as Dmc is ready for the playoffs I'm ok...I think in order to be fully ready for the playoffs though he needs to start playing no later than week 15....

Correct, it's projected 7.7 million. Bush is not a top 5 running back in the league. He's a very good player and a luxury to have a 2nd stringer as good as him. Really, he is the main reason we haven't noticed any dropoff from DMC's injury, but I really wonder how much of his success is a product of our line play.

In addition we drafted Dmac insurance last season in the 4th round. We picked jones because we knew there was a likelyhood Bush could be gone. Jones looks promising. In limited touches this year, he shows exellent burst and has averaged 4.6 ypc. He is not the complement to Dmac that we like, but really neither is Bush. Look at his numbers this year. When he plays as a complement to McFadden, he has averaged 3.2 ypc. It's only when Bush is given the chance to rush for at least 15 attempts when he can find his comfort zone. Also we may have a short yardage back already on this team. . .I'd like to see how Reece could do if given an opportunity.

I say we use the 8 million that you want to spend on Bush next season and invest in our defense. Bring in a new D Coordinator and give him his pick of FA's, whoever he wants to bring in who he thinks can help this D get over the hump. There are a ton of good FA's next year with the 4 year CBA rule opening the floodgates in 2012, we need to be aggressive and upgrade our defense.

I say keep both if we can. Its working in our favor now that DMC is out, having MB in there is a season saver.

Seems to me 2/3 of the money on this team is already invested in our poor defense. I'd say pay the guy that actually is worth it. New D-coord wants some fresh blood, then he can cut some of the dead wood.

The only thing that he's hurting is how much he'll get next contract.
