    Al Davis Is The Raiders!!!

When I first saw the report I was pissed and scared at the same time.I thought it was some a**hole putting up nonsense, then I dug a little deeper and DAMN.....The Man Is Gone!?!?
Im very passionate about my Raiders and If you Love the Raiders then you Love the man that Made the Raiders everything that they are today!
My story about Mr Davis is,Me and my buddies drove from chicago to washington d.c. for the Raiders v skins game,
norv was coaching and we won so needless to say we were fired up after the game talking **** to the skins fans and having a great time.It was jerry rices bday so we were trying to get his autograph but he wasnt being friendly so a lot of the nation started letting him know about it.So who walks up but the Man,Mr Davis!
He talked to us,calmed us down told us to be patient that more wins are coming and just stay the path.
This was the closest i've ever been to him so I just started yelling AL DAVIS IS THE RAIDERS!!! over and over!
He looks at me and smiles, didnt say anything then the whole crowd starts saying the same thing, cool moment!
Later that year at the press conference when Mr Davis fires norv he looks at a reporter that asked him a stupid question and says.....I AM THE RAIDERS!
    True story.
Love you Mr Davis and Thank You.

He personified the Raiders, He did things his own way, whether people agreed with him or not, he was always true to his convictions. The NFL has lost one of their greatest owners, someone who contributed so much to further the sport.

I remember where I was when Roger Maris passed, when Mickey Mantle passed on. And I will always remember what I was doing when I read that Al Davis had passed on. I did not always agree with him. but his contributions to the NFL and to the Raiders organization are undeniable. One day when I pass on, maybe then I can sit down with him and talk for a few minutes. My prayers and condolences are with him and his family. Much respect Al... You will be missed.

RIP in peace Mr. Davis. You were great for football and knew more than any other in the game about the game. I forgave him for the move to L.A. even at the time because, after all, it's a business and he predicted that free agency and pay per view would not allow him to compete (he was not independently wealthy). He achievements are basically unparalleled.

    rip al

woah...Ive been lurking these boards since 05, and I never post. however, this heartbreaking news forces me to step out and say something. I hate this. There is no other way to put it. We lost the Ultimate Raider this morning. Everything about the mans life was silver and black. Al is an icon who will be getting on the field with us every sunday and if you think Marquis Cooper's war pigeon was something special, u aint seen NOTHING yet. I was set to lean back drink beer and casually watch some LSU football this morning but now...I'm on a damned warpath. I love you and miss u already Al.

Now for those of you lowlifes that said you couldnt wait for this day....yeah I remember you like Sebastian Bach. Screw 'yall. Karma is a beast and u will get what u deserve. There is nothing good about this day. It sucks. I dont even know how im gonna watch football. I don"t even know how Al's haters can live with themselves. If you ever wished death on Al align yourself with the Denver and KC fans because you are a Raider hater from hell. People outside of our fanbase wont really understand what we are going through but we as the raider family need to come together and support one another. I dont know about you, but Oct. 8th is a day that will be circled on my calendar from here on out.
    We love you Al

    We miss you Al

We will dominate Houston for you Al.

    Just Win Baby!

I just never saw this day coming. I honestly thought he was going to live to 100. Sad day for the Nation. Rest in peace Al. No matter what you say or think, he will always be a legend for the NFL and The Raiders.

Man, this is really a bad week...First Steve Jobs (I worked with him, so it's not a apple fan love) and Now Al, one of the most important people in the sport and team that I love. This has been a bad and hard week.

    RIP Al Davis!

    RIP Al Davis

I have been a Raider fan my whole life. Al Davis IS the Raiders. He represents everything that the Raiders are. The bad boys, the rebels.....the Raiders are the team that sets new standards and does things their own way no matter what the rest of the league thinks. Thats Al Davis and thats the Raiders. I will miss seeing him at Raider games. I didn't always agree with all the moves he made, but you had to respect the guy. He probably has done more for the NFL than any other single person. Sad day. The end of a great era. RIP Al and GO RAIDERS!!!!
