Schilens scoped; DHB returns - Inside the Oakland Raiders - A look inside the world of the highly classified Oakland Raiders from the writers of Bay Area News Group
A few preliminary notes following Raiders’ practice as relayed by beat writer Steve Corkran:
– Wide receiver Chaz Schilens underwent arthroscopic knee surgery. Coach Tom Cable was not sure how long he would be out.
– Wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey returned to practice and looked the better for sitting out four practices with “fatigue,” making a few plays after dropping off in the sessions that preceded his absence. Running back Darren McFadden was also back on the field.
– Alex Daniels is once again a defensive lineman. He was back to wearing No. 71, instead of 39, and Cable said after practice things hadn’t progressed as the staff had hoped.
– Right tackle Langston Walker (lower back) and defensive tackle Richard Seymour (triceps) didn’t practice, nor did center Samson Satele. Cable said Satele’s ankle injury, sustained early in the Bears game, did not look serious.
– Quarterback Bruce Gradkowski will see considerable action in the last two preseason games, although Cable would not commit as to whether he would go in as No. 2 or No. 3.
More to come later . . .

Why are we paying Chaz anything again?
“We had an argument that was ongoing for about 50 years, about how to build a club. Where do you start? His thing was you start with the corners. My thing was to start with the offensive line.” John Madden

geez chaz... DHB better step it up this year and be the wr we need. DHB and murphy aint a half bad duo if DHB plays well. Put JLH/miller/ford in the ths slot, its not a spectacular wr core, but JC did more with less in washington the last few years. Miller should be a pro bowler.
DHB shut us all us up please
Chaz get well soon, we need you back ASAP
The average athlete can come back from arthroscopic surgery within a couple of weeks so going by that timetable we should hopefully expect Schilens to be ready next spring.
Fatigue. What a load of ****. DHB is 23 years old.
