Terrible article on ESPN - Time for this board to stand up!

Normally I don't do this, but recently read an article that Tatum never attempted to apologize for the Stringley hit. It can be found here:

Tatum's death summons Stingley tragedy - AFC East Blog - ESPN

Problem is, the writer is a complete hack. If he would have done 5 min. of research he could have came across an article (and I'm sure countless others) in which Tatum did express remorse for what happened, even if it wasn't Tatum's fault. Here is an example

Sorrow, not guilt - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Personally, if everyone active on this board spends 5 minutes today to contact ESPN with a phone call AND an email, perhaps we can get this BS article removed due to its inaccuracy. I've already done my part, hopefully you guys can come through too.

1-888-549-ESPN (3776)

https://r.espn.go.com/members/contact/index - this is an email contact number

They have a chat as well - Contact ESPN - Sitetools - ESPN

I know from experience that if we get enough steam on this they will remove the article or release an apology. Let's show the strength in this board!

The article is accurate as far as Tatum never apologizing to Stringley directly. As far as attempting to apologize? I find it hard to believe that you want to apologize to someone but can never seem to find their number.

From the article you posted: "Tatum, as he has said many times, will never apologize for how he played. He didn't then and won't now. He is defiant in that regard."

The article seems accurate to me. He didn't feel the need to apologize for playing the way he was taught to play. Some people find that very callous. I'm fine with that. Hopefully you have better stuff to do with your time than lead a phony crusade against ESPN.

I'm pretty sure if Jack could have somehow known what was going to happen before the hit, he would have done otherwise...maybe. I could care less what some jackass at ESPN has to say about it. Jack said what he said about the incident and that should be the end of it. Take it for what its worth or just leave it the Fukk alone.

Is it me, or is Stingley gettin more attention than the passing of a Raider great.

Figured it was this article before I opened the thread..

While the article isn't wrong in information, the point of view is harsh.

Agreed. Rather than getting angry we should be mourning, Raidernation lost a great man...not just a football player.

I think the article is way off-base personally. They stated he never attempted to apologize, that is false. He did, but Stringley's family turned him away. I love how Grogan is so angry about a "meaningless" game. Grogan is just as at fault for a terrible pass as Tatum is for the hit - and neither deserve any of the blame - but for Grogan to harbor resentment is childish. This article is poorly written and wasn't researched very well at all. As far as contacting ESPN, to each their own. Can't say I blame anyone though.

You know what? For all the anger ESPN causes this Board, why even visit their site? All you're doing is generating money for them by visiting and clicking sites.

If you really want to send a message don't use their product.

That was an unfortunate incident that happened long ago and stuff like this just perpetuates bad feelings for that awful day and Tatum's death.

The article is well written and legit from a different point of view. All his facts concerning the "never made appology" are quotes and cant be viewed as his opinion. When a writer can convince you of a certain event or feeling without ever stating it.... he has done a good job.

Piss on Steve Grogan. Darryl forgave Tatum long time ago and Grogan is the biggest asshole I have ever seen. I'd like to give him a knuckle sandwich.
