Looks like the Raiders are going 3-4 with Mcclain pick

Maybe Cody if available in the 2nd round. If not lets get a John Jerry or a OT in the 2nd round

Are D coach is not a 3-4 coach. All we did is went out and got a killer MLB for our D. No more blaming the LB's here soon.

Cody will almost for sure be there. We should jump on that pick with both feet.

We still need line help but we are not going 3-4. We are a 4/3 Over/Under hybrid with a splash of 3-4 looks thrown in I would imagine.

I would be happy w/ this pick.. our D would be NASTY even if we continue to play a 4-3.

Take Veldheer in the 3rd, and take and OC/OG's afterwards. Options are Tennent, Jd Walton, Asamoah, Johnson, and Brandon Carter.

Better late than . . - Inside the Oakland Raiders - A look inside the world of the highly classified Oakland Raiders from the writers of Bay Area News Group

Tied up with the live blog and Tom Cable press briefing, still waiting for Rolando McClain conference call . . .

    – Great common sense pick by Raiders. Unlike last year, where DHB pick was greeted with laughter, most everyone nodded their heads and seemed pretty impressed by selection of McClain.

Cable said McClain had the size of a guard, could defend receivers, and was instrumental in getting Alabama teammates to put defensive tape on discs so they could go over it together.

I’m going to be tied up with the live blog

    – Said Raiders are still a 4-3 team, but alluded to the possibility of some “new” wrinkles. Being more multpile, changing things up . . . I like the sound of that.

    – Kirk Morrison is now “depth,” but don’t expect on him being a reserve linebacker at 2.51 million this year. He’ll be traded or cut, like Danny Clark/Greg Biekert.

    – Someone on the on-line chat says Morrison and Thomas Howard were tweeting up a storm until McClain was picked. Since then . . . crickets.

    – Will check in later, back to live blog and other duties . . .

    – Hey, wasn’t there at least one person in the local media who had the Raiders taking McClain?

It really does make you wonder if that's the plan. I'm not sure if I'm as high on McClain as a 4-3 MLB. But, he's still (in my view) the best first round selection the Raiders have made since Aso.

So we spent our first round on a situational player in McClain???

If he is an all-down LB then we need to move Wimbley and pray McClain does a better job of tackling.

Yeah, ESPN is still reporting that Tom Cable says we'll remain 4-3, with an occasional 3-4 look. Do you guys think this means Morrison is definitely on his way out?
