Bruce Almighty Speaks With David White...

Interesting read... some of the same stuff from the interview yesterday with the radio station but there are some new nuggets such as DHB being at the facility here and there.

Q: Are you the opposite of JaMarcus Russell in terms of attitude, work ethic?

A: I appreciate the compliments. That's just the way I was raised. I was raised by my parents, blue-collar guy, to work hard and you're going to get what you deserve and what you work for. That's what I believe. So I'm always going to have the right attitude approaching things. Just continue to try and get better and I just want to help the guys around me. I get excited when Raider fans are excited for the season. We need to give them more to cheer about. They backed the Raiders the last couple years when it hasn't been so good. We look forward to getting back on track and really get that stadium roaring.
Well, he could've said something like "I'm a hard worker but I'm sure JaMarcus is doing the same thing, trying to be prepared..." or anything similar to that.

He did not deny the implicit statement made by White that JaMarcus is lazy. Not, that we didn't know that allready but if it has come so far that even team mates are tired of backing him and at least protect him for the sake of peace, things seem to be really, really ugly...

Remember as far as we know the last time most of these guys saw JaMarcus he was skipping out of town before the final team meeting only to be spotted in Vegas. That kid has an incredible amount of work to do if he ever expects his teammates to truly have his back. Particularly teammates who want his job!

If we can get some protection from the offensive line, which is a BIG "IF", I think we could see a major turnaround on offense this year. Bruce has all the intangibles you look for a la gannon. That doesn't help though if you only have a second or two before your on your ass!

Excellent analysis!

OK, I am officially on the Grad Wagon! Rich Gannon is my favorite player of all time, and I see the same attitude in Bruce. now he just has to complete sixty passes a game like my man Rich!!

Right up there with this one after the Baltimore game:

Reporter: "How do you think JaMarcus played out there today?"

Chaz Schilens: (Long pause, stern face) "...No comment."

Gradkowski would not have said as much, unless the majority of the team have very little feelings for Russell. No player is going to step up and play enthusiastically, if he does not have much confidence in the QB.

Now then, things can become ugly, if Russell's level of play does not progress and yet gets most of the starting job: A recipe for mutiny.

a career back up is now "Bruce Almighty"? Some Raider fans have lost their minds.

Any schmuck could have come in, played the way Bruce G. did, and many in this fan-base would have then waxed poetically about them and rant about how they are the 2nd coming.

Seriously...

People should put into context how bad this team was, how the off. was graded down and how pitiful and depressing the whole aura of the club was with Russell. The injection of life was true and very real. Put people should also put things into perspective.

Bruce's work ethic and leadership alone makes him mighty.

I don't know about 2nd coming, but a QB that wants to be a leader is something to excited about for me because we haven't seen it in awhile.

Hell, I didn't think Gannon was that great when we signed him. Who knows what will happen?

Maybe BRUCE will PRODUCE!
