Herrera is only feeding us the BS Al tells him to feed. If you're going to hate someone hate the old man in the jumpsuit.
The Raiders’ John Herrera vs. me in front of the cameras today: Well, THAT was fun | Talking Points
Interesting that Tim Kawakami appears to have felt the same way about Herrera after the infamous confrontation.
I feel bad for Raiders employees. I really do. I understand the unique pressures and paranoia involved when you work for Al Davis. I talk to enough people who used to work for him to know.
I have a feeling at some point John Herrera and I will sit back and laugh about this. Maybe not for a while, but we probably will. I think he’s normally a very nice man.

I just don't understand why anybody would lie. If Russell had buisness In Vegas and a Raider official was there with him I don't see JaMarcus over there for leisure. Especially if Al's right hand man said the organization knew about it.
Thats a fair point about him scheduling for another day, but you also don't know if Russell could of set this up beforehand with Cable. Everybody assumes Cable gave him permission the day of, for all we know this could of been set up months beforehand.
It just doesn't seem like a huge deal to me. He only missed the end of season meeting and the end of season physical. For all we know Russell could of went to Vegas to see a specialist with a Raider team doctor for some sort of problem. That being said, I expect Russell there for EVERY offseason activity, OTA, lifting session ect.
Wheres the proof? It's all speculation at this point.
No. Al Davis is just so fvcking deluded he doesn't care what we think.
The crazy, old coot thinks that fans will buy tickets and turn up again as soon as they hear him spout all his old crap about "Commitment to Excellence" and "The Greatness of the Raiders is in its Future".
I wonder what the reasons in his deluded mind for the stadium having been half empty are?
Economic climate?
We all know that if he's decided to fire Cable he'll mention 3 things:
(1) The offense wasn't scoring enough,
(2) The coaching staff didn't develop the talent of the roster (ie Russell, but not mentioned by name),
(3) The placement of an inferior product on the field and inability to win successive games meant fans didn't want to watch.
You don't miss the end of season meeting if you've been paid $40 million so far and the end result is 20 turnovers, 100 yards passing per game and a beer gut bigger than Rob Ryan's. Have some ****ing self respect. If you believe there was a Raider official with him you're on some good **** and I'd like a word with your dealer. I'm going to need it to get through another season of this crap.
It's not a huge deal if it's anybody on this team but Russell, because all that has been said and done so far. The Raider's should know from a public standpoint if nothing else, this isn't good if it gets out. All the people that couldn't be there Russell had to be one, just figures. If it was for a specialist, again couldn't wait a day? Are we aware of a football injury he has?
You are right to a point, but again anyone but Russell.
I don't see any reason for the Raiders to lie. If Russell is over there by himself it only hurts Russell in the future.
I agree he shouldn't of missed the meeting, and should of made it a day after. We just don't know the circumstances. Maybe he has some sort of condition we don't know about and he goes to see a specialist every year (not likely, but possible) some athletes do that sort of thing. We just don't know.
Normally it wouldn't be a big deal and I would agree with you, but after hearing reports that the players are upset about it, means something isn't right. If the players are upset that he missed the meeting to the point that they are saying he lost the locker room, if anything there is a lot of communication lacking, and that just adds to the dysfunctional persona.
