Really cool. RIP Marquis Cooper
Seymour (sort of) guarantees playoffs - Inside the Oakland Raiders - A look inside the world of the highly classified Oakland Raiders from the writers of Bay Area News Group– Film of a pigeon accompanying the Raiders down the field on a kickoff return made for an amusing highlight, but struck a few players as something more significant.
“You see that pigeon?,” Green said to teammate Sam Williams. “That was Marquis.”
Indeed, even the mother of Marquis Cooper, the Raiders linebacker and special teams standout who was lost at sea on March 1 and presumed dead, thought the same thing.
Williams checks in with Donna Cooper regularly.
“She said, `That was Marquis out there with you guys,’ ” Williams said. “That was something else. I just saw it on the field, wondering why it was there. Once I saw it with us, covering the kick, it was special.”
Really cool. RIP Marquis Cooper
If you think about it, god put him in the quickest scenario to get on the field quick, reincarnated as a pigeon with his natural silver and black. That pigeon would not move, and actually set up a few blocks on special teams and would not move and did not leave the field. God works in mysterious ways!
God bless his family. I thought the same thing and even posted about it here shortly after the game. It was erie...I think what really made it stand out, was that it flew in PERFECT formation...never strayed, just followed his teammates down and contained.
Quite beautiful, actually.
R.I.P.
that's pretty cool. RIP fellow Raider.
that's a very cool way to think about it....
