I live in SEC country and have watched Russell since his early LSU days, he's always been a big dude, always looked like a DE playing QB to me.
It's nothing new for him to be a huge guy and have some chunkiness to his body, we didn't draft the typical 6' 3" 215 pound type guy, we drafted a big 6'6" 270 pound guy.

So let me get this straight... Russell had surgery on his ankle on 2/12/09 and so less then 30 days later on 3/7/09 he is seen in photographs looking a little chunky. Is anyone surprised he might put on a little weight while not being able to run recovering from his surgery? Even then in some of the pictures at the same even he doesn't look as bad as in #8 & 9.

Does he look like he needs to shed some weight? YES but at the same time you don't know if he is still in the same shape as in the picture right now. Nobody said anything about him being overweight in the minicamp last week and if he was it would have been talked about by every media source.

Theres alot invested in him. He should be in better shape regardless of an ankle injury or not. You give me the money JaMarcus got and ima run 20 miles a day and Have a 300 actors body.

You don't know... Just like you don't know what he weighed in Jan, Feb, Mar, April or NOW! Hate him if you want, I could care less. If he helps us win the AFC West I volunteer to help hoist his "fat" ass up and carry him off the field like he was Madden in '76. If not he will be replaced eventually and life goes on...
