Funny how "sources" are saying that Miami has an expensive but "very effective" offensive line now. Last time I checked, when grove was in Oakland, the critics thought he sucked; now that he's on another team, he's near Pro Bowl material. Reminds me of Rod Coleman.

I'm saying right here and know that Grove will end up making a pro bowl on that team. Maybe not right away, but he will end up being a pro bowl center down there in Florida. If he does end up playing well, I would be convinced that players just hate playing for Oakland. Anyway, for know it looks like Grove was a bit overpaid, but I'm willing to bet the house on Mr. Parcells evaluation rather then those on the internet that think they know everything. I don't know, that's just me.

Glad we never offered that much to keep him

    You are kidding.
If Grove had come back I'd have been fine, but not at that kind of money.
    Pro-bowl?

Grove has always had injury troubles and issues with big NTs and bull-rushing DTs.
Jerry Mac sums it up nicely.
Fact is, Grove missed 26 of 80 games because of injury since joining the Raiders in 2004 and played in 19 of 32 the past two years.

You got to be kidding me. Glad we did not offer always injured Grove that type of contract. When he starts getting owned by DT they are going to regret this move IMO.

Good. One very overlooked weak link in the oLine gone. Grove always going backwards, never forward. There are several good centers in this years draft.

The same thing happened in Tampa Bay last year when they gave way to much for Saints C Jeff Faine. I do not know how they evaluate centers if this is how much he gets paid.

This was a good non-signing and allows us to grab a cheaper free agent or draft someone in later rounds.

Melvin Fowler is coming in who cannot be any worse then Grove.

Good for Jake. Are the Dolphins going to keep Samson Satele? He was a second round pick for them and played very well. ( He's a Univ. of Hawaii guy so I seen him play lots ) Sam is big strong and nasty- we should look into it.

Perhaps it was when he shut down Jenkins (who plays in their division) and Haynesworth. There are some huge DTs in the Dolphins division and Grove did very well last season against the big guys...

I'm just glad that the Raiders didn't spend that much on Jake Grove. I would have liked him to be re-signed, but not at that cost...

I stated that Grove would get Paid in FA because he really is a good center. He did add alot of strength and held down Haynesworth and Jenkins who are 2 of the best at their positions.
