Tyvon Branch's cast off!
Quote:
FROM JERRY MAC BLOG:
Have you noticed how great Tyvon Branch is on Special teams? The guy is fast. Do you think once his cast is off that him and higgans will switch off returning?
jerrymac: Jarrod: The cast is already off. He practiced without it Wednesday and Thursday and forgot to mention it in the blog (sorry). I think he'll get a chance returning kicks, but as Branch told me, Higgins is doing very well, and it may be awhile.

I have a lot of high hopes for this kid! He is sooooooooooooo fast!! I want to see him return a kick so badly! Great news!!

He's fast, sure, but you can't ask for too much more than what JLH has given us.
Either way, Branch is one of our best draft picks in years.

This is the kind of cast-offs that I like to hear being mentioned with the Raiders.
Trust me, it's a lot funnier if you've been or or both.

I must say, I've been incredibly impressed with Tyvon Branch.
He plays good defense, great special team gunner, & has promise at returning kicks. Can't wait to see more of him.

What i like the best about Branch is now Lechler seldom out-kicks his coverage. Lechler can boom the ball 60 yards and Branch can get down there to make the tackle. We dont have to worry about the bomb and then the return man has a ton of room to work with. to Branch.

He's played on the defensive side of special teams and done very well. I have noticed he has been playing a little D here and there. Good solid pick-up already, but if he can return kicks better then JLH(who does scare me at times) then let him have at it. Not saying JLH hasn't done a great job so far this year, but he is also more involved as a rec. now, and has been pretty good(better then any other WR on the team) at that position for us. Maybe we give the kid a shot, and if he looks good let him go.

yes if there is just a drop in production form higgins on returns, i would not think twice on putting branch back there..
kid has blazing speed
i think was fast db in combine or player in combine i forgot..
but when he got that one int the other week..forgot what week... he just looked blazing fast wanting to return it
FAST!!!
reason being for higgins to b taken out..
main and only one..
because he is the only receiver producing!!
and risking an injury would put this wr core at 0!

Branch is very quickly becoming one of my fav Raiders. The guy has been a stud for us on special teams, and that shows he is willing to work hard regardless of the situation. I hope he can progress to be a solid starter for us.

Maybe we should put both of them out there and run some type of reverse play. Remember when we scored with a reverse with Terry Kirby and Philip B!!!
