Shaun Phillips: Raiders played hard but we wanted it more

There was no doubt in our minds that we would win the game. The Raiders are a good team, but at the end of the day we wanted it more. With the firing of Lane Kiffin today, you would have never thought that was coming by the way they played.

They played hard.

I agree that we've got talent too. But the depth thing is a definite issue for us. When our front line guys are injured or need a breather, we take a major step back in talent at most positions.

Oh yea, I totally agree on the depth part. I should have been clear on that. I cringe when someone gets hurt because we just don't have good bodies to fill the voids.

I dont agree agree that they have more i do agree they have talent though. We los tt hat game on the side lines. Be it Kiffin or Ryan or both, we didnt put our players in teh right positions on the field to win that game when it counted, they did it for 3qtrs and went away from what worked in the 4th. The players also bare some too, because they needs to learn to block, catch, throw, cover etc when it counts also especially when you say your behind a coach who is on the hot seat, you guy sure didnt play like it in the 4th and the coaches didnt coach like the coach was in the hot seat.

It's part of the getting better process. We found our talent on the front end and players that want to play. The next step is finding depth, and few a more solid starters. Of course Jamarcus needs more experience, but I feel that we're close. The only thing that's slowing our growth is the front office.

I agree. You guys have a good team. But you have a rookie at QB and no depth.

We (Chargers) are deep. We haven't fielded all our starters at one time in a long time, but we have depth.

We have enough talent... except at the most important positions. JRuss is talented but limited by inexperience, and our offensive line, the most important unit on offense, is just plain mediocre. And look at our wide receivers.

So no... we don't have enough talent.
