The reason he wont be holding a press conference is that his team thinks they now have Al beat, and can get his money from the senile old man who is our owner. What happened today was an embarassment to professional sports. We are getting killed by just about every single media and radio outlet. Smart move by kiffin of getting out now.

Kiffins breach of contract or should I say contractual obligations are probably to the organization. Not Davis per say. So if it can be proved that he undermined the organization he would be at fault. You think that the old man doesnt have a fleet of attorneys who have provided feedback on what can and can not be said and done. The man has been in more legal battle than Law and Order. Davis stated facts, witnesses, and provided documents for everyone to see. Tell me how did Davis defame his character. By pointing out a lie?

The bottom line is that this is about money. And if he says anything else stupid, he may put himself in a bigger hole. Kiffin doesnt get paid, the lawyers dont get paid.

I'd want my name cleared for potential future employers. Kiffin can fight Davis in court, but we all know Al will drag that **** out and by the time all is said and done... I don't know, it might just have tarnished Kiffin's reputation. Maybe not. Maybe teams won't give a **** and say, "well... Al is just crazy". But after paying lawyers and going through a lengthy trial, is it really worth it?

May not even get that far. Kiffin can petition the commissioner's office to act. If the commish believes the Raiders owe, he can order Al to fork over the money. If Al refuses, the NFL can garnish the money from the team's allocation of shared revenues (i.e. television, merchandise, etc.). Any legal action then may be between the league and Al.

Kiffin is making a very smart move here. THink about it. What is the purpose of holding a press conference? It would be imature imo. When Kiffin goes to his next job they will side with him because he can now be seen as the victim. I believe that he was in some ways the victim & he will have success later on but never had a chance in Oakland.

Al can't win. He's silent then they make up stories and say if these weren't true Al would say something. He finally gets out to tell all and then he's classless. Well again he didn't want to all of a sudden coach the Razorbacks.
