I have backed kiffin for a while now. Mostly just because i didn't want this season to be a loss and start all over again next year. I thought we'd be back to 500 at least this year, now this.

I don't know who's telling the truth about alot of this, and i don't really care. Fact of the matter is Kiff is out Cable is in. So lets back cable and the rest of the team.

And if Kiff really didn't think he could win, and really didn't want russell, then screw him. Truth or not, you don't start a fight you can't win.

Oh, and if someone called me a liar and threw me under the bus numerous times... I'm not going to just sit by and go "it's so painfull". And i'm sure as hell not going to cancel MY presser to say my side. Kiffin running and hiding is a surprise, and to me shows davis was right on with all he said. But we'll probably never have concrete answers.

It may be sad, but really, looking at the situation from the perspective that Al wanted this guy gone, to not pay him and knew he'd have to deal with an appeal/lawsuit - makes me believe what he had to say a whole lot more.

Drafting players on the other hand.....well, we'll discuss that at length in again in the offseason....

However, if the truth lies somewhere in the middle or if Al is lying, Kiffin might just decide to sue Davis for slander. You can't publicly trash someone's reputation unless you can then prove everything you've said. Saying Kiffin wanted to get fired is horrificly difficult to prove since it goes to intent--especially since Kiffin's actions in terms of his on-job performance seem to suggest he was trying to succeed.

I am a lawyer, and I think Al Davis made a big mistake today. I think he let Kiffin get to him and now he wants to trash the kid. Problem is, we have this thing called the law and it doesn't work that way. And if Kiffin was my client, I'd tell him to STFU and let the courts take care of it.

If you get fired from a job, and your next prospective employer calls the employer who fired you, your ex-employer, if they're smart, will only tell the prospective employer a few things; your hire/fire date, your salary history, and your hire / re-hire status. Many employers will even hesitate to say WHY an employee was fired. Why?

Because ex-employees have successfully sued former employers MANY times for trashing them to a prospective employer. Common law has set the precedent. Just because an employee had a negative experience with one employer doesn't give that employer the right to intentionally prevent him from being able to obtain future employment.
NFL HC job is a hellovalot different than the typical business world. Obviously, Al has the paperwork, emails etc. probably been building for months. What he showed was nothing compared to what he likely has.

Al is not a novice at litigating or fighting in the court system or within the NFL ranks. Remember what he said to Nancy?

Al did not make a mistake - he struck back and the boy who cant manuever got shut up - he's shutting up not only to try to negotiate for some of the money but to salvage his rep to be a college waterboy again.

WoW, people bitch when Al doesn't go public and say things. He is bashed over and over again for not going public with his side. Now when he goes public with his side these people now say he should not have.

Some of you need some serious meds.

Al roasted Lane Kiffin yesterday. Too much of Al's story makes sense for him to be lying(besides Al would not set himself up like that) his timelines work and the things he says fill in blanks from only getting one side the last few months.

The last two games are perfect examples of Lane Kiffin intentionally not doing his job. Either that or he is a very stupid man. I doubt he's that stupid but hey, either way it's cause.

Everyone knows Al Davis is not an angel but this is very out of character for Al also. He doesn't get on and do these kinds of PC's and I never expected to see it. It's obvious Al is lucid and his after PC conference definitely shows that. Al is not a fool and I would be willing to bet that Kiffin isn't talking because Kiffin has no response that he could come across as dishonest at this point.

Goodell is not going to get involved in this he has no reason to. Lane screwed the pooch. Lane tried to play the victim and it backfired. It sounds like Lane has created some staff issues(wow now the Herrera explosion makes more sense) and some player issues. He was supposed to be some kind of talent guru yet couldn't make up his mind on the draft.

He needed to go, he is gone. End of story. I doubt he will ever be a HC in the NFL. I'm willing to bet enough owners saw his antics and would not want to chance having a HC who would pull those stunts on them also just because he's unhappy.

His prospects are now thinner and it's his own fault. Next time he should shut his pie hole and do his job. He was a boy in a mans job and it didn't work out.

Truth is davis probably lost the case with that press conference regardless of how much of it was true.

What ever dude...you all will jump ship until the Raiders start winning again, then you will be walking around with inflated chests and heads and start claiming how die hard you are to the team.

Win , lose or tie, ...and u know the rest.

He was also talking sh$t about Monte Kiffin, the New England Organization (tampering with Moss), and Mortensen ("professional liar"). Not smart.

Where the heck have you been? lol Kiffin has been putting out personal stuff ever since he got here. Al's press conference pretty much addressed every comment that Kiffin has made to the media about Al and about the organization. I'm not saying everything that Al said was true but this whole situation has never been a private affair.
