I agree Raider Len; Al Davis acted like an employer; would you work for someone if they ripped on you to others for sympathy?
Al Davis has documentation, and he's met with a ton of lawyers and he's going to win just like he did with Shanahan. Mr. Davis has sued and won against the city of Oakland, the NFL, the city of Los Angeles. Do you think he's going to just fling himself out there and say lies so he can have a huge slander lawsuit against him? Kiffin turned out to be a whiner. If you fail, blame others. Its the work ethic of today. What cracks me up is all of the kiffin lovers, have no proof, no facts, and just say, "i believe kiffin". LOL; so many just check their brains at the door and they dont think things through; these are the same posters that bitch about negative things being said and they want facts for absolutely everything. Al Davis kept his mouth shut, did this behind closed doors, and Kiffin blew it. He should have just kept his mouth shut and given no reason for Al to not pay him. He couldn't do it; he loved the sympathy. |

Doesn't matter who you believe... the Raiders are still 20-64...

He said to me many times through the years that owners are often the problem with their franchises, that too many of them think they can run things when they cannot, and the teams that succeed are the ones where the owner hires the best people he can and turns the game over to them." |

So great take Lance I want to coach another teams side. There are Raider fans in the stadium and then there are Raider ?'s online. I just don't meet these people in real life, and don't for the life of me can't understand why they stay around. I know plenty of people Al lost when he moved to LA, at least they made a more sane choice, they just got the hell out and to be honest I can't argue with their choice. At least they weren't half way this or half way that. They took that slap on the face and left. |

I am going to wait for the video to come out showing a Raider executive giving his side of the story....where you at Herrera?....lol I'm sure this must be just a bunch of pot smoking sportswriters trying to make Al look bad. Never mind the Raider record the past two decades or Al's hiring and firing of head coaches....I bet Norv and Shanarat have some advice for Kiffin. Thats probably why the PC was cancelled by Kiffin. If you want to go to court and win...keep your mouth shut. If your trying to convince people and sway public opinion you run your mouth....especially when you have tickets and merchandise you need to sell.

I believe this was an embarassement that should have never came to this, and that this team has been very poorly managed. Who is to believed is irrelevant, both are at fault, but at then end of the day the onus os on management to do the right thing.

I am pretty sure that the truth lays somewhere in between Al and Lane who are both at fault IMO. Kiffin pushed the envelope with Al. I am sure that Al being Al did not help the matter. Now he is trying to clean it up. I supported Kiffin but I am glad this is over finally so will can get on with the season.

Big Al came out there and laid it on himself first? He said it was his fault. Then he blew up Kiffin! And if Kiffin would of just did his job and shut his mouth. He would have a job right now. Al is the BOSS...it's as simple as that. Kiffin is a cry baby and needed to be spanked.

It doesn't matter who is right... we where in the right direction, our team has been a lot better than the past few years. Will it continue to go that way? who knows, hopefully. But if there was any time for the players to take the year off it's now.

what do you mean right direction? How? We been playing the same way for 5yrs now and losing the same way for 5yrs now. And there is n time for any player to take the year off, they still need to go out and do their jobs, just maybe if some of them would make plays, tackles, and catch teh damn ball (curry) maybe their beloved coach who they are playing hard for would still have a Frikkin job!!!

To answer this question accurately, one must preface it by doing several difficult things. 1. remove your love for the Raiders from the equation 2. Remove your like or dislike for Al Davis 3. Remove your like or dislike for Lane Kiffin Now, ready....here is the most logical answer I can give.... The PC by Davis was a floater to see how the members of the media would respond to the accusations. it was designed to provide relief for the organization from what would certainly be a media back lash....in that, it was successful so far. It also brought about a change in perception of the inner workings of the organization. Davis is now no longer the all controlling mastermind of disaster inside the organization. He freely admits that he made mistakes, and he freely admits that Lane was not qualified for the job, and Davis further admits that Lane was allowed to learn on the job and was never in hot water over on the field mistakes. The most telling comment by Davis was when asked if the Raiders were 3-1, would they still be there...Davis responds yes. For Kiffin, he avoided several questions, obviously under the pretense of advice by his councilors. He was very uncomfortable in the interview, and yes, he rarely looked directly at the camera. He almost brushes off the document that was presented as fictions, but never answers any questions directly, or with any authority of presence or conviction. Now, one must look at the overall scope of the challenges brought forth by Davis. He documents his arguements, references collaborations to his charges, and is fairl |
