I don't believe either of them. Al is trying to not pay Kiffin the remainder of his contract and Kiffin is trying everything he can to get the rest of his $$$. So with millions at stake we are going to see a lot of finger pointing and passing the buck.
IMO this is just another black eye the organization couldn't afford. Everything that Kiffin has pulled his time here just proves he was nowhere near ready to be an NFL coach. And the fact that Al had to hire him because nobody else wanted the job and he was the only option out there makes it even worse.

This matter will be decided in a court of law, not in a press conference. IMO Kiffin won't be getting another cent because Davis usually wins here. Just like someone pointed out earlier how he's sued the city of Oakland AND the NFL and won both.

that could mean him saying my name is Al Davis...but u wouldnt believe him because he doesnt want to pay kiffin...thats how u worded it... why would daavis trade moss? he fvckin loves fast WR's dude. in the news conference you could tell by Al's body language that he didnt want to trade him...he said people now say all we need is a playmaker...and he said we had one but we trsded him for a 4th rounder and all he did was catch more than 20 TD passes. why would Al lie with a pending lawsuit? makes no sense

Here's what happened. You tell me what a sweet old man AD is after you see it laid out. Last year, Kiffin had decided that things weren't what he expected with the Raiders. The Arkansas job opens up. Arkansas wants Lane. It is, by the way, perfectly within Lane's rights to pursue a different job if he thinks it's a better job or he's not content with his current job or because his fortune teller told him he should take it... whatever. Lane asked Al if he would be let out of his contract to take that job. Al says sure. But he's pissed now because Lane is disloyal. Arkansas calls Al. Al tells Arkansas to get bent, you can't have my head coach until the season's over. See, here's the thing. Al had the opportunity to rid himself of Lane Kiffin without having to pay the remainder of his contract. All he had to do was say, "screw it. If you don't want to coach for the Raiders, fine. Take the damned Arkansas job." But that's not what Al chose to do. Instead, he chose retribution. He screws Lane's chances at the Arkansas job, and then tries to force Lane to resign, thereby voiding the contract. Al's been around a long time. He knew Arkansas wasn't going to wait until January to hire a head coach. It's a mafioso, strong-arm tactic, and I'm not at all surprised that Lane would rail against it. So, instead of saying, "okay Mr. Davis. You're right. I was disloyal for inquiring about another job and therefore I will quietly slink away into the night," Lane says "screw you Al. If you're going to screw me with my pants on like that then I'm going to stay! If you want me gone you have to fire me!" From that point forward the Raiders have been searching for a way to toss Lane out on his ass without having to pay him. Al's tears are alligator tears, my friend. He's the one who set all these things into motion by being too proud to let Kiffin walk, and then being to proud to pay him. Al wanted the best of both worlds, and Lane didn't bite. Be pissed at Lane for looking at the Arkansas job if you want. But the rest is ALL on Al, and Lane was simply fighting back the best he could. |

what i dont believe in is Kiffin on the field. His play calling, clock management, and his vanilla, predictable offense was a very big reason the Raiders lost both the last 2 games.

The rest of it is trivial Semantics. but the truth is Both of them should have gotten canned. Unfortunately, Al Davis owns the team and you can't fire the owner. You can only choose to withhold your services in tickets and merchandise until he either sells, dies, or team is moved back to L A. |
